Research And Practice Of Geometric Form Language In Contemporary Landscape Painting

Many contemporary landscape paintings with geometric features and elements frequently appear in people’s vision.Any form of art is constantly explored,practiced,and developed by numerous artists.Artists attempt to use geometric language to express their personal understanding and emotions towards nature through learning,inheriting,breaking through and innovating traditional landscape painting,as well as absorbing and borrowing from Western modern art concepts.The geometric form language in contemporary landscape painting is not only a form of modeling and composition,but also a carrier for creators to convey "spirit" and "meaning".It contains creators’ rational thinking on the construction of images and their pursuit of traceability to the essence of things.The language of geometric form has a general feature in shape and an ordered feature in composition.These artistic features are inherently related to the aesthetic concepts and modeling laws in Chinese landscape painting.At the same time,the geometric artistic images in the screen have an impressive visual expression,which more intuitively conveys the inner spirit and thoughts and emotions that creators want to express.On the basis of existing theoretical basis and research results,this article first analyzes the geometric features of painting works in both China and the West,and summarizes the artistic characteristics of geometric form language;Secondly,it mainly explores the expression and application of geometric form language in contemporary landscape painting in terms of shape,composition,and spirituality,attempting to provide methodological theories for the use of geometric form language as a means of reference or absorption in contemporary landscape painting creation;Finally,by combining theory with practice,the research content will be applied to personal creation for practical exploration,helping the author construct their own painting language and style,and creating landscape painting works with personal style characteristics.
