Investigation And Research On Social Appellation In Xi’an Dialect

At present,the results of the research on dialect appellations in China mainly study dialect social appellations and kinship appellations as "appellations",and rarely conduct an overall analysis of dialect social appellations.This paper classifies and organizes the social appellation materials of Xi’an dialect,treats the social appellation of Xi’an dialect as an independent language system,produces the social appellation table of Xi’an dialect,analyzes the wordmaking method and word-forming method of social appellation in Xi’an dialect,compares the social appellation of Xi’an dialect with the social appellation of Mandarin,and conducts a comprehensive and systematic study on the social appellation of Xi’an dialect.On the basis of fieldwork and literature collation,this paper establishes an independent system of the collected Xi’an dialect social appellation vocabulary materials,classifies and organizes them into a list of Xi’an dialect social appellations,and points out that Xi’an dialect social appellations can be divided into four categories: communicative titles,occupational titles,gender appellations and geographical affinity appellations,and marks the terms,phonetic transcriptions and definitions of dialect words.It is believed that the word-making methods of social predicates in Xi’an dialect include sound imitation,borrowing,analogy,abbreviation,and explanation,of which the explanatory method accounts for the highest proportion of wordmaking,which is mainly divided into explaining from the condition of things,using "the situation of things + affixes" to explain,using "the situation of things + affixes + sound change(childization)" to explain,using "affixes + the situation of things" to explain,using "double tone+ sound change" to explain,from the usual place to explain,from the perspective of geographical relations,from the perspective of kinship,from the perspective of work.Xi’an dialect social appellations can be divided into three categories from the perspective of word formation: derived words,compound words and overlapping words,which can be analyzed by the combination of roots and affixes(suffix),affixes(prefixes)+ roots,affixes(prefixes)+ affixes(suffixes)and root + affixes(suffixes)+ affixes(suffixes).From the perspectives of the number of semantic items,the difference of word meaning,and the emotional color of words,the social appellations of Xi’an dialect and the social appellations of Mandarin were explored.The word form is the same,the meaning of the word is different;The word form is the same,the meaning of the word is crossed;There are four differences between the same word shape and different meanings and emotional colors.This paper argues that the social appellations of the Xi’an dialect have a typical heteromorphic phenomenon in the communicative predicate words.In terms of word formation,the derivatives of social appellations in Xi’an dialect account for the majority,and some words have envy.The comparison of the social appellation of Xi’an dialect with the social appellation of Mandarin highlights the distinguishing regional characteristics of dialect words.
