Performance Analysis Of Grieg’s Piano Lyric Sketch Op.38

Edward Grieg(1843 — 1907)is a representative composer of the Norwegian national music school.His works are distinctive in nationality and lyricism.He has created a large number of piano works of various genres in his life,among which lyrical sketches with rich musical images and intimate touching occupy an important position.This paper takes Grieg’s Piano Lyric Sketch Op.38 as the research object.Firstly,it summarises his life,creation and the creative background of this work.Secondly,starting from the musical ontology of the work,the compositional structure,harmony and beat,rhythm are analyzed and discussed,so as to summarize and refine the creative characteristics of the work.Finally,based on his own performance experience,this paper analyzes the technical difficulties of the work in detail from the four aspects of legato,decorative tone,multi-voice processing and pedal.
