A Study Of Dugu Shou’s Fu

In the middle and late Tang Dynasty,the creation of Ci Fu was outstanding.And the Lv Fu which was closely related to the imperial examinations,began to flourish in the middle Tang Dynasty.Dugu Shou is the writers who retained more Fu works in the middle Tang Dynasty,he has 20 existing Fu works.Dugu Shou was good at Lv Fu,and later generations spoke highly of his Fang xun xiang Fu.However,there are few records of Dugu Shou’s person and affairs in the official history,there are few studies on Dugu Shou in the academic circles at present,and the research on his Fu is only focused on Yin bin Chu Ri Fu and Fang xun xiang Fu.Therefore,this paper takes Dugu Shou’s Fu as the research object,makes a comprehensive analysis of Dugu Shou’s life and Dugu Shou’s Fu themes,thoughts and artistic features,trying to explore the value and influence of Dugu Shou’s Fu.This paper mainly discusses from three parts.The first part is a review of Dugu Shou’s life,friends and the creation of Fu.According to the available materials,Dugu Shou was active in the middle Tang Dynasty during the Dali period.In the 14 th year of the Dali period,he became a successful candidate in the highest imperial examination.In the same year,he passed the examination of the Ministry of officials and became the official collator.“Zhuozhu” Pan Yan and classmates of the imperial examinations Wang Chu,Zhou Wei,Yuan Tongzhi,Dou Chang,Bian Fu,Xi Zhi,Dugu Liangqi,had contacts with Dugu Shou.Zhang Shi,Su Zihua,Zhong Ziling,Xi Kui,also had contacts with Dugu Shou.Dugu Shou’s literary creation mainly focuses on Fu.he has 20 existing Fu works,18 of them are Lv Fu marked with limited rhyme.The imperial examination and the examination of the Ministry of officials are closely related to the Lv Fu,and Dugu Shou’s creation also affected by the cultural atmosphere of the imperial examination at that time.The second part is the analysis of the theme and thought of Dugu Shou’s Fu.In terms of theme classification,Dugu Shou’s Fu can be divided into celestial phenomena and geography,governing Taoism and Canon system,historical legends,elucidating meanings,chanting things and expressing aspirations,the subject matter is rich in content.There were both Confucian and Taoist thoughts in Dugu Shou’s Fu.Among them,Confucianism is mainly embodied in the four aspects of benevolent governance,selection of talents,active entry into the world,and self-cultivation.Taoist thought is embodied in Taoist classics as the theme,with Taoist characteristics of things into Fu,showing the characteristics of the fusion of Confucianism and Taoism.The third part is about the artistic characteristics and influence of Dugu Shou’s Fu.In terms of proposition and problem solving,the titles of Dugu Shou’s Fu are mostly from classics,historical books and books of various schools of thought,characterized by dignity and grandeur.Moreover,Dugu Shou’s Fu had a variety of writing techniques,which were flexible and ingenious.In terms of phonology and sentence pattern,the rhyme parts of Dugu Shou’s Fu are flat and oblique,the first sentence is rhymed,and the feet are frequently used,which has the characteristics of phonological harmony.At the same time,Dugu Shou’s Fu syntax is flexible and not restricted to one style.On the whole,Dugu Shou’s Fu is characterized by its broad law,magnificent atmosphere,elegant diction and sincere emotion.The subject matter and chapter layout of Dugu Shou’s Fu had an important influence on the creation of the middle and late Tang Fu.Dugu Shou’s Fu still had a certain influence as a template for the creation and learning of the later generations.
