The basic appearance of Mr.Yu Youren’s calligraphy in his later period was mainly cursive, and the more he reached the later stage, the more he presented a beauty of transforming hardness into softness, which was the crystallization of his extraordinary life.Yu Youren’s innovation in cursive writing has always been a hot research topic in the current academic community, and the practice of "using steles to translate into cursive writing" is highly topical. In the late period of Yu Youren’s reign, cursive script not only had rich content and varied forms, but also fully demonstrated the concept of "learning from the ancients without adhering to them",with diverse style characteristics;Analyzing and learning the style of cursive script in the late period of the Youren period can provide inspiration for future scholars. This article analyzes and studies the cursive style of Yu Youren in his later period. As a representative of traditional Chinese literati calligraphy,Mr.Yu Youren’s works are unique in both content and form.As calligraphy styles move towards the "exhibition era",calligraphy creation has become more of a "pure" artistic expression, and form has become increasingly important in calligraphy art.Contemporary calligraphy works demonstrate the innovation of writing materials and exquisite design of forms, which have a strong visual impact on viewers, but rarely evoke emotional resonance.Traditional literati calligraphy, such as Yu Youren’s works, attracts people with its natural writing and displays personality through his calligraphy works, which can showcase personal charm.Modern formalism calligraphy has severed the relationship between calligraphy and cultural spirit. It pays too much attention to the production of form and ignores the humanistic spirit contained in the works. This situation is worth thinking deeply.Taking the cursive script works of Yu Youren in his later period as the research object, through on-site inspection of the Youren Calligraphy Museum, reading relevant literature, and appreciating Yu Youren’s cursive script works,it is found that the characteristics of the cursive script in his later period are diverse, with the most prominent feature being "using tablets to enter the grass",which is reflected in the preservation of the square strokes of Wei tablets in cursive script, and the integration of trembling brushstrokes in the writing process,The study of Wei Bei provided him with new ideas for creating cursive calligraphy. This article explores the style of Yu Youren’s late cursive calligraphy works from the perspective of a major feature of Yu Cao’s "integration of inscriptions and inscriptions".By exploring the causes of style characteristics,we can understand how Yu Youren created a unique new style of calligraphy.
