Musical Characteristics And Performance Analysis Of Liszt’s "Polonaise In E Major"

Franz Liszt was a 19 th century Romantic pianist,composer and educator.His attainments in piano composition are even more remarkable.The second Polish Dance in E major is a masterpiece because it is technically difficult to play and requires a high level of basic skills.I have studied and analyzed the Polish Dance in E major based on my own performance experience,focusing on the musical characteristics and performance techniques of this work.I hope this can provide a useful reference for more players to better understand and interpret this excellent work.This paper mainly discusses the background of Liszt’s compositional period,and discusses his musical characteristics and performance techniques.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part focuses on the background of Liszt’s “Polonaise in E major”,and introduces the background of the times and the unique artistic features of Polonaise,so that readers can get a better understanding of the piece.The second part focuses on the analysis of the music characteristics of the works,which mainly includes the musical analysis and an exploration of the stylistic characteristics of the music,through which the reader can gain an insight into the musical expression of the work.The analysis of the performance techniques from the perspective of one’s own handling of the performance is the main part of the third section.Through sorting out the relevant documents and materials and combining with my own performance experience,I have obtained the following performan research results,hoping to provide some beneficial enlightenment for other performers to help them perform this work better.
