| The Chinese nation is a multi-ethnic assemblage,each with its own ethnic culture and spirit,and as a reflection of the culture and spirit of the Chinese nation,work brush figure painting on ethnic minority subjects has naturally become an integral part of contemporary Chinese work brush painting.As society progresses,ethnic minorities are becoming the subject of close attention,and the creation of brush painting with Yao subjects has become the choice of many painters,and new attempts and explorations have been made to explore the language of line,colour,shape and layout,showing the unique charm of contemporary Yao subject brush painting in many ways.However,it is worth considering what kinds of painting languages are used in contemporary Yao figure painting.In what forms are these languages expressed in Yao figure painting? And what role does the use of these languages play in the development of contemporary Yao figure painting and even in contemporary Yao figure painting of minority subjects? This paper examines these questions in relation to the language of painting in contemporary Yao figure painting.The paper is divided into four sections to explore the language of painting in contemporary Yao figure painting.In the introductory section,the concepts of contemporary Yao-themed brush figure painting are sorted out,and the concepts of contemporary brush figure painting,Yao subject matter and the language of painting are introduced in detail;the first section grasps the history of contemporary Yao-themed brush figure painting from three aspects: tracing the historical origins of minority-themed brush figure painting,sorting out the development of contemporary Yao-themed brush figure painting,and exploring the creative resources of Yao-themed brush figure painting.The second part,which is the focus of this thesis,analyses the four aspects of contemporary Yao figure painting,namely,the expression of lines with bones,the use of colour,the modelling of figures in both form and spirit,and the elaborate layout,and summarises the characteristics of the painting language in contemporary Yao figure painting;the third part explores the humanistic connotations of contemporary Yao figure painting;The fourth part explores,applies and reflects on the painting language of contemporary Yao subject work-pencil figure painting from the author’s graduation creation,using practical painting as content. |
