Khaled Husseini is a writer with a unique immigrant experience,a multicultural identity,who practices redemption in the literary world.His "Afghan Trilogy" presents the suffering and extremely resilient Afghan national life to the world in an all-round way by writing about the joys and sorrows of ordinary people struggling with the torrent of war and fate.The trilogy is rich in content and runs through the theme of redemption.The work reflects the conflict between the individual and the self,family,society and national culture,shows a series of redemption actions of search and return,and provides certain thinking for the survival dilemma faced by people today.Based on the background of Afghan reality and text creation,this paper systematically interprets the redemption theme of Khaled Husseini’s "Afghanistan Trilogy",adheres to the combination of text analysis and theory,and combines related theories such as religion,morality,and aesthetics,and explores its redemption theme of "deviation-connection-reconciliation" at multiple levels and angles.At the same time,it also uses the proposition of the era of "redemption" to express the crisis consciousness of the current situation of human existence and the exploration and inquiry of the meaning of a perfect life,and re-find the spiritual eternal state of spiritual conversion and moral reconstruction in the sense of religious philosophy.Under the redemptive framework of“deviation-connection-reconciliation”,this paper discusses the redemption the me of Husseini’s "Afghanistan Trilogy" in the basic context of "redemption cause-redemption method-redemption result".From the perspective of salvation,because people are separated from God,with others,and from themselves,nation,society,and individuals are in urgent need of salvation.Specifically,this article first points out that the author’s struggle in the dilemma of identity in foreign lands and native lands,and the crisis of real existence and spiritual apocalypse are one of the reasons for salvation;Secondly,the history of suffering caused by war,religion,ethnicity and other contradictions presented in the "Afghanistan Trilogy" is the second cause of salvation;Finally,it is pointed out that the alienated humanity and distorted relationships presented by the text also become one of the reasons for salvation.In terms of redemption methods,the“Afghan Trilogy”presents three ways:religious salvation,moral redemption and aesthetic redemption.The three different ways of salvation are to build bridges between man and self,others,and God.This article points out that the "Afghan Trilogy" embodies two religious ways of salvation,Christianity and Islam,namely,atonement for sins through“blood”rituals and "sacrifices" for each other,and atonement through devout faith and good deeds by practicing "justification by good works".Secondly,it is pointed out that Husseini uses moral behavior to deeply analyze human nature in the "Afghanistan Trilogy",and uses evil to turn good as the guide to promote people’s reflection on their own shortcomings,and carry out moral redemption in shaping a perfect self.Finally,through the "Afghan Trilogy" tends to be authentic imagery and attention to the will to live such as love and emotion,Husseini’s aesthetic redemption is explained.From the perspective of redemption results,this paper points out that through the practice of three ways of redemption,the work finally realizes the reconciliation of the relationship between man and self,man and man,and man and God.The first is the cleansing of sin so that the character can reconcile with the self,realize self-growth and life renewal;Secondly,the stability of the homeland and national unity promote the characters from leaving to returning,and realize reconciliation between people;The third is the return of faith to mark their conciliation of the relationship between man and God,and the realization of spiritual freedom and the state of eternal life existence in the reconstruction of the relationship between man and God.
