Mr.Lu was a famous Chinese composer and music educator in the 20 th century.During his lifetime,he composed a large number of musical works,including orchestral works,operas,oratorios,piano works,art songs,folk song reductions,chamber works,film music,children’s songs,and nearly 300 musical works in various genres.Mr.Lu also wrote many influential piano works which contains all kinds of Chinese music elements,such as Xunyang Ancient Tune and Tibetan Sketches.He devoted his life to creating piano works with Chinese national characteristics.Among these works,there are two piano works with elements of Guangxi Zhuang music,named Donglan Bronze Drum Dance and Song of Jian River,which are also representative.The two works,which are the main research objects of the thesis,contain elements of Zhuang folk songs and bronze drum music,with a beautiful and fluent musical language,and a distinctive rhythm,showing people the grand scene of Zhuang people singing and dancing at festivals,expressing their desire for a better life,their love for the great rivers and mountains of our country.Thus,they have very important research value.This paper takes Lu Huabo’s two Zhuang piano works as the object of study,using literature study and music ontology analysis to explore the formal structure and ethnic characteristics of his music and apply them to actual performance.This thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 gives a brief biography of the composer and an introduction of his piano works;Chapter 2 analyses the context of the two Guangxi Zhuang piano works;Chapter 3 mainly explores the musical and cultural connotations of Lu’s two Zhuang piano works,summarizes its specific performance in music,and aims to summarize the ethnic characteristics of the works.Chapter 4 presents a study of the musical ontology of Lu’s two Zhuang piano works in terms of their compositional structure,harmony,melody and rhythm.Chapter 5 summarizes and analyzes the difficult points of the two works based on theory and practice combined with my own performance.It is hoped that the theoretical analysis and practical perceptions in this article will provide myself a better understand of Lu Huabo’s Zhuang piano music works,and also provide references for subsequent students to perform and interpret.
