| Exercises are an important part of Chinese teaching materials, and the quality of exercises is closely related to the quality of a textbook. At present, the Chinese teaching community at home and abroad has paid less attention to the preparation of exercises for Vietnamese localized textbooks, and the focus has been scattered, especially on the purpose of passing the HSK test, which is common among Vietnamese Chinese learners. As there are no clear regulations on the use of teaching aid books throughout Vietnam, teaching aid books such as HSK may not be used by all Vietnamese learners of Chinese, and most learners use representative and widely used textbooks to prepare for the exam. Therefore, from the perspective of language testing, based on the previous studies on the exercises of Chinese textbooks, this paper first uses a comparative analysis to study the exercises of the representative elementary comprehensive textbooks of China and Vietnam, namely,Boya Chinese(Beginner’s Chinese)and Chinese(6 and 7),to explore the matching degree between the post-class exercises of the two sets of textbooks and the HSK3 level, and combine the results of the comparative analysis with an in-depth consideration of the exercises of the textbooks. The results of the comparative analysis were used to examine which of the two sets of textbooks could better meet the needs of the language test. The results of the comparative analysis show that the two sets of Chinese textbooks are basically matched with the HSK3 test, with Boya Chinese(ⅠandⅡ)having a better match and relatively better consistency, while Chinese(6 and 7)has a better performance in the writing questions, and each textbook has its own emphasis. Therefore,it is necessary to use the textbooks appropriately and make full use of their contents and features. It is not possible to cope with the tests by relying on the books alone, and it is necessary to study effectively in conjunction with the actual situation and to use the contents of the textbooks in practice so that the knowledge can be better transformed into one’s own ability.I hope to provide reference for Chinese learners and Chinese teachers using the two sets of teaching materials,as well as suggestions for the development of future teaching exercises. The following is the general idea of the author’s analysis and reflection:First, the introductory section briefly describes the background of the topic, the significance and purpose of the study, gives an overview of the current situation of research at home and abroad, introduces the research method and the research object, and demonstrates the feasibility of applying language testing theory to the writing of language textbook exercises.Secondly, the author made a detailed data compilation of the writing concept, the number of questions and question types of the two sets of textbooks, and analyzed the exercise settings of the two sets of textbooks, including five aspects: writing concept, number of exercises, types of questions, question contents and arrangement order, and compared and analyzed the writing characteristics of the two sets of textbooks in terms of exercise contents from these aspects. Finally,a comparative analysis is made of the matching degree between the exercises of the two sets of textbooks and the HSK3 sample paper. The comparison of the two sets of exercises is analyzed in terms of listening, reading and writing, and suggestions are made in terms of the number of questions, the type of questions, the content and the compatibility of the two sets of exercises with the HSK3 level. |
