As the first official international fair in Chinese history,Nanyang Industrial Exposition played an important role in the development of craft education in our country.In this paper,through sorting out the exhibits,awards,research reports and other content,analysis of the craft education,to help craft education research.First of all,“For the needs of the people” was considered to be the purpose of craft education,according to the analysis of relevant materials,there were four main types of views: first,through the active development of charitable institutions of craft education,it can promote the development of craft education while helping people to earn a living;second,it can meet the educational needs of women by promoting the development of craft education for women;and third,it can strengthen the teaching of practical products,fourth,we should maintain national self-esteem and self-confidence by emphasizing the nationality of Arts and crafts education,choosing foreign subjects carefully and resisting foreign arts and crafts materials.Secondly,‘ Localization ’ was the principle of technological education.The educational practice needs to accord with the local educational environment of our country.Because at this time our country craft education system is not mature,therefore should promote the education system to be clear vigorously.Because our country craft education idea is old-fashioned,therefore should hold the expositions,sends the overseas student and so on the measure to promote the idea innovation.Educational practice should be in line with the development of our local craft,so we should promote the quality of craft,promote the further separation of technical design and artistic design.The educational practice needs to adapt to the local employment environment,so it is necessary to advocate the‘Parallel study and work’ model to help skilled workers find jobs effectively.Finally,‘Theory and practice in parallel’ was the method of craft education.Through the writing of excellent textbooks to promote theoretical exploration,through the industrial schools,normal schools to improve the curriculum system to promote the development of practice.The view of craft education in the 1910 Nanyang Industrial Exposition was not only a reflection on the practice of craft education in the late Qing dynasty,but also a reflection on the difficulties faced by the people and the development of craft during this period,for the craft education at that time to provide effective development ideas.
