Problems And Solutions Of Coherence Of The Target Language In Chinese-english Simulated Consecutive Interpreting

A Bite of Guiyang is a food documentary produced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee and Daolai Media.The documentary deeply analyzes the relationship between Guiyang cuisine and its people,history and style,and is committed to creating its own name card of food culture for the city.The documentary is selected as the data for interpreting practice,aiming at spreading Guiyang cuisine and its family concept,life style and even spiritual belief,and introducing Guiyang and its cuisine culture to the world,and attracting more domestic and foreign audiences to understand the delicacy of local cuisine,and making the soft power of Chinese culture more influential in the world.In this interpreting practice,there are three problems: redundant information,semantic absence and disordered logic.These problems affect the coherence and quality of the target language.Guided by Translation Variation Theory,reducing duplicate information and combining similar information can solve the problem of redundant information.In view of the semantic absence,this thesis puts forward the method of explaining characteristic vocabulary and cultural connotation and adding missing elements.Disordered logic can be settled by adding logical connectives and rearranging sentence order.Aiming at solving the above problems affecting the coherence of the target language,this simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpreting practice report puts forward appropriate solutions,in order to provide certain references for the interpreting practice of food documentaries in the future.
