One of the responsibilities of art is to lead people to perceive the world through artistic activity and in the process to connect with it,and immersive art exhibitions exist to do just that.During the experience of an exhibition,the viewer develops a subtle connection with the artwork,the artist,and even other viewers integrated into the immersion experience,a tacit understanding that brings spiritual relaxation to oneself.Therefore,it is important to be able to create an atmosphere that is truly immersive.As an emerging art form,immersive art exhibitions deserve a great deal of attention from the curatorial industry in China.This paper will examine immersive art exhibitions from the perspective of curation,in the hope of contributing to the development of immersive art exhibitions in China.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter examines the changes and development of China’s contemporary curatorial industry by explaining the transformation of the main tasks within the Chinese curatorial industry,the enhancement of the expression system of Chinese art discourse,and the changes in the development model of the industry.Chapter 2 analyzes and examines immersive art exhibitions and their relationship with curation in terms of their historical evolution,the characteristics of immersive art exhibitions,and the role of curation in immersive art exhibitions,respectively.Chapter 3 divides the general curatorial path of an immersive art exhibition into planning the birth of the exhibition,helping the work to express itself,and guiding the audience to think,and explains the curatorial thinking of China’s immersive art exhibitions from these three levels respectively,with the intention of illustrating the importance of curatorial activities in immersive art exhibitions.Chapter4 analyzes the curatorial activities of current and future immersive art exhibitions,reflecting on the curation of immersive art exhibitions from three levels: problem formulation,corresponding countermeasures,and forecaster of the future,so as to gain insights and give suggestions on how to promote immersive art exhibitions to develop in depth.As a result of industrial upgrading driven by experience economy,this thesis is somewhat contemporary.In recent years,relevant state departments have issued a series of policies such as "Guidance of the Ministry of Culture on Promoting the Innovative Development of Digital Culture Industry","Guidance on Promoting the Deep Integration of Culture and Technology",and "Opinions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Digital Culture Industry" to support the development of high-tech culture industry including immersive art exhibitions,so as to promote and facilitate the upgrading of related industries.However,in today’s era of "immersion in everything",there are still some problems in the field of immersive art exhibitions that are waiting to be discussed and solved.Among them,the curatorial area is more restricted,and the curatorial system is not perfect,The problems of restricted curatorial areas and inadequate curatorial systems provide the starting point for the necessity of this research.
