"Paradigm" is an important theoretical term proposed by Thomas Kuhn,a famous American historian of science.Since the book "Structure of the Scientific Revolution" translated by Li Baoheng and Ji Shuli entered the Chinese academic circle in 1980,this theory has attracted the attention of many fields,including the literary theory circle,and once influenced the research work of Chinese literary theory circle on literature and literary criticism.This paper takes Kuhn ’s paradigm theory and the paradigm of Chinese literary theory as the research object,which is divided into three main parts,including introduction,four chapters and conclusion.The introduction part includes three parts : backtracking the translation and application process of the concept of " paradigm " in Chinese literary theory,focusing on the " Chinese problem " in the use of " paradigm," and tracing the causes of the problems,so as to clarify the specific reasons and theoretical value of the topic from the practical level.The first chapter of the text mainly combs Kuhn ’s concept of "paradigm" from the perspective of knowledge genealogy.The term "paradigm" embodies the important content of Kuhn ’s early philosophy of science.It is closely related to the concepts of scientific revolution,scientific community,incommensurability,professional matrix and paradigm.It is a typical example recognized by people in the field of scientific practice.The generation of the concept of "paradigm" has its clear original context,but it also absorbs the contents of Wittgenstein ’s philosophy of language,Gestalt psychology,Piaget ’s cognitive theory and Gadamer ’s hermeneutics.To a certain extent,it breaks through the hard barriers between natural science and humanities and social disciplines,and provides many possibilities and rationality for the translation and use of the term "paradigm" in Chinese literary theory.The second chapter mainly focuses on the evolution of "paradigm" and "I’épistémè " and their connotations,and analyzes the related confusing concepts."I’épistémè" and "paradigm" are both high-frequency terms used in the field of literary theory.Among them," I’épistémè " is embodied in the " historical resultant force " of thought,system and culture in a certain period of time,which is the overall discourse correlation that restricts the production of specific knowledge.The " paradigm " appears as a specific and typical " knowledge pattern " bred in the process of knowledge production.Related to this,the famous contemporary left-wing thinker Agamben also used the word " paradigm " many times.In addition to the consistency of the two in the use of conceptual terms,Agamben regarded it more as an archaeological method,showing his alienation from Kuhn ’s paradigm.As a contemporary British scholar with Kuhn,Masterman also played an important role in the development of paradigm theory.However,the content of Masterman ’s reinterpretation has different degrees of deviation from Kuhn ’s " paradigm " both in the way of discussion and in the specific connotation.The third chapter discusses and reflects on the use of the high-frequency term " paradigm" in Chinese literary theory.It is mainly divided into three sections.The first section reviews the process of translation and application of the concept of " paradigm " in Chinese literary theory,and clarifies the two main misusage tendencies of the concept of " paradigm " in the academic circles.First,it focuses on highlighting the " normative " side of paradigm theory,while ignoring the connotation of " model ";the second is to use ’ paradigm ’ to refer to specific theoretical(critical)forms,and equate " paradigm " with " theoretical form " in the use of concepts.The second section focuses on the differences between the translations of "model " and " paradigm," and analyzes the reasons for the confusion and confusion in the academic circles.The third section focuses on the use of ’ paradigm ’ in Chinese literary theory,from the perspective of communication and application and the reconstruction of the theoretical connotation of " paradigm ",trying to reconstruct the connotation of " paradigm " from the perspective of discourse.The fourth chapter combines the development and situation of Chinese literary theory to explore the value and enlightenment of paradigm theory for literary theory research.From the theoretical perspective of " paradigm ",this paper focuses on the trend of anti-essentialism literary theory,clarifies the research purport of anti-essentialism literary theory paradigm,the problem domain involved,the subject identity and the way of thinking related to it,grasps the theoretical orientation of the construction of literary theory paradigm at the academic level,responds to various practical problems related to the development of theory,and provides a possibility to solve the problem of knowledge discourse production and innovation in Chinese literary theory.The conclusion portion is a summary of the views of the whole essay.While clarifying the necessity of Kuhn ’s paradigm theory in literary theory research,it also acknowledges that there are some problems in its specific application process.It should be recognized that on the basis of grasping the particularity of literary theory,which is of great theoretical value and academic significance to introduce the term of "paradigm".
