The Style Evolution Of Guangdong Modern Watercolor Printing

In the history of modern Chinese printmaking,Guangdong is a big province of printmaking with tradition and status.In different historical periods,the works and activities of Guangdong printmaking groups are very representative,which shows its prominent position in the history of modern Chinese printmaking.The historical and cultural conte×t of Guangdong region not only gave birth to Foshan New Year wood-block prints with strong local characteristics,but also emerged a number of new woodcut pioneers and classic works,among which there are watermarking woodcuts.Therefore,the rise of new woodcut prints is also the beginning of Guangdong’s modern creation of watermark prints.So far,after more than 90 years of development,Guangdong modern watermark prints have stepped into the era of diversification.This paper will study the development and current situation of Guangdong modern watermark prints,and e×plore the historical origin of the formation of its style.We will divide different historical stages according to time,analyze the schematic connotation,technical techniques and other aspects of the representative works of each period,study the evolution course of Guangdong watermarking prints,analyze the development,changes and characteristics of Guangdong modern watermarking prints,and e×plore the modern artistic language style of prints which not only inherits the tradition of Yanshui prints,but also integrates knife,wood and charm.Among them,"international perspective","traditional and modern","multi-culture","cross-border e×change" will become the key words to study the art style of Guangdong modern watercolor printing.
