| Electronics and information engineering is the discipline which is devoted to the application of the computer and modern technology into electronic information control and information processing, with its major focuses being on information acquisition and processing, and on electronic equipment and information system design, development, application and integration as well.In recent years, with the rapid development of electronics and information engineering,brand-new concepts and theories have come into being.Under the background of the extensive application of information technology and the increasingly frequent international technical exchanges, the translation of scientific and technical texts in electronics and information engineering has become an ever more valuable object of study.Based on the Theory of Explicitation, the present translation report takes five papers in the international journal of Transactions on.Audio,Speech and Language Processing for example, discusses the application of explicitation in the translation process and summarizes the specific methods of text translation in electronics and information engineering under the guidance of explicitation by way of combining the professional knowledge of electronics and information engineering with the characteristics of electronics and information engineering. The research mainly consists of three parts:First, the Theory of Explicitation is described and formulated, that is,the origin, category and evolution of the theory are introduced in detail.Secondly, based on the translation examples in the international journal of Transactions on Audio,Speech and Language Processing, the characteristics of texts of electronics and information engineering are analyzed from the three levels, such as vocabulary, syntax and discourse, and the necessity of using explicit strategies in the translation process is elaborated. Finally, through the approach of the combination of theory and practice, the research combines the Theory of Explicitation with specific translation examples, aiming to prove the explanatory power of explicitation for the translation of electronics and information engineering texts. The translation report shows that in the translation process of the texts of electronic information engineering, the Theory of Explicitation can not only provide theoretically valuable translation approaches for translators, but also provide practically specific guidance. At the same time, the application of explicitation is conducive to translators to reproduce more effectively the professional knowledge of electronics and information engineering, thereby enhancing the professionalism, practicality and readability of the translation of this type of texts. |
