Director’s Statement Of The Feature Film To Live For Yourself

The graduation work "To Live for Yourself" is a short drama film focusing on the real survival plight of middle-aged women.The short film adopts a realistic creative method,adopts the traditional "beginning-development-ending" three-act narrative structure,takes Su Min,the protagonist of the news of "56-year-old aunt escaping domestic violence and self-driving trip",as the character prototype,and revolves around the daily life and psychological state of the middle-aged female character "Zhang Lifen",telling the story of middle-aged women losing themselves and rediscovering themselves under the dilemma of their original family,marriage life and motherhood,and exploring the theme of women’s consciousness awakening.The short feature film "Exit" focuses on middle-aged women,presents various practical dilemmas of middle-aged women,and intuitively reveals the obstacles in the process of forming middle-aged women’s self-awareness.On the basis of exploring the growth difficulties and causes of middle-aged women,the short film also tries to give answers to the dilemmas,encouraging and calling on modern women to have the courage to break the oppression and discrimination brought by patriarchal culture and traditional gender concepts,realize their own value and live their lives.At the same time,the short film also reflects the continuous awakening of women’s consciousness in modern society,but women’s survival is still facing old problems and new challenges.Based on the creative process of the feature film "Exit",this paper combines relevant film and television theoretical knowledge,and carries out a detailed description from the initial determination of the theme,script creation and planning,mid-shooting of the film,and post-editing and production,and analyzes and reflects on the entire creative process,accumulating its own practical experience to improve the level of creation.
