Wolff’s hypothesis holds that human thinking and cognitive patterns are influenced by their mother tongues, and that Han and Mongolian have different mother tongues, which means that their cognitive styles are also different. The existing design of Hohhot Metro APP(Qing Cheng Metro)also has deficiencies in considering user cognitive differences. Therefore, based on ethnic psychology, interface design theory and user experience theory, interface design elements were integrated,Mongolian and Han users were taken as design objects, existing research results on cognitive differences between Mongolian and Han were sorted out,and a user experience design model was constructed based on the five-factor model of user experience.Design practices were carried out according to the model to optimize the APP interface of Qingcheng Metro. The overall design is divided into four parts: First, literature achievements supporting key clustering are explored through bibliometric method, and these achievements are taken as initial data for text analysis, and a clear range of interface design elements is sorted out.Secondly, the author searched the cognitive literature results of Han and Mongolian, and used content analysis method to sort out the differences between Mongolian and Chinese individuals in interface design elements.Thirdly, the mapping relationship between the representation of Mongolian-Chinese cognitive differences in interface design elements and the five elements of user experience model is sorted out,the interface user experience design model under Mongolian-Chinese cognitive differences is constructed, and the design principles are summarized. Finally, the design practice is carried out according to the design model, and the user experience is verified.Through theoretical research and design practice, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)the elements of interface design include seven categories: color, information design, interface layout, text and font,ICONS and graphics, interactive mode, and navigation structure;(2)About the representation of Mongolian and Chinese cognitive differences in interface design elements, the cognitive differences in color include color metaphor, color hue, color matching, purity and contrast, color classification dimension and color perception category. In information design,it includes the use of space, spatial reference frame, semantic transparency, digital reading habits, text level and text reading breadth. The layout of the interface includes the best view of the interface, foreground and background, and text arrangement;the text and font include Chinese and Mongolian typesetting, text hierarchy and arrangement, and font form;the icon and graphics include graphic metaphor and pattern style;(3)In the design process, attention should be paid to the cognitive differences between Mongolian and Chinese, and the differences should be applied to improve the user experience of the design results;(4)Through design practice and design verification,it is found that users have a high degree of acceptance for the optimized Qing Cheng Metro APP,indicating that the design results have achieved better user experience.
