| The Yan’an woodcut is a barometer of Yan’an Border Region policies,experiencing a discourse flow from revolution to construction: from promoting the Anti Japanese War movement to showcasing the political progress,economic production,and daily life of the people in the base areas,achieving the theme transformation and discourse exchange of woodcut in different regions.The rich artistic features of The Yan’an woodcut together shape the unique Yan’an discourse.The booming economic,cultural and economic construction in the Jiefang District of Yan’an,as well as the new life of the people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,have provided a variety of creative themes for the art creation of The Yan’an.The Yan’an artists respond to the clarion call of the times with artists’ sensitive sense of smell,and connect the historical scene of the people under the pagoda mountain with images.The CPC leads the people to actively fight against Japan,develop production,and become a military and civilian family,We have established a revolutionary visual system for The Yan’an woodblock printing,which plays a unique social role in art during special periods.The Yan’an literature and art is the literature and art of the people under the leadership of the CPC.Popularity is not only the aesthetic feature of The Yan’an literature and art,but also its most essential aesthetic ideal.The main purpose of this dissertation is to explore how the demands of revolution and construction during the Anti Japanese War were presented in woodcut images,the relationship between The Yan’an woodcut creation and the political,economic,and cultural construction of border areas,and how the aesthetic value of The Yan’an woodcut changed during the construction process.This dissertation takes The Yan’an woodcut printmaking as the research object and is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is examined the changes in the theme,social nature,and values of The Yan’an woodcut after its development from emerging woodcut;Starting from the chapter 2,the artistic expression of the people’s character in The Yan’an woodcut images is discussed,including: the chapter 2 is discussed the theme of "revolution" in The Yan’an woodcut creation,focusing on the themes of "the front line","the rear breakthrough",and "military civilian cooperation" to explore the people’s subject and the combat attributes of woodcut images;the chapter 3 is analyzed the political and artistic implications of the images based on the real-life records of the people in the social environment surrounding political progress in The Yan’an woodcuts;the chapter 4 is focused on the woodcut images of the border region’s economic production,exploring the pattern and significance of people’s "cooperation and mutual assistance" in the mass production movement;the chapter 5 is explored the transcendence of The Yan’an woodcut over popular ideological trends,as well as the reconstruction of people’s aesthetic awareness and value in literature and art from three aspects: "artist identity transformation","mass line",and "utilizing old ethnic forms".This dissertation mainly adopts research methods such as iconography,art sociology,formal analysis,and narratology to study the historical process of the development of Yan’an woodcut,the thematic expression of The Yan’an political,economic,and cultural construction,and the aesthetic awareness and value construction of The Yan’an woodcut.It explores how artistic images respond to the demands of the times at special times. |
