The Image Of The Mythical Beast In Jiuyuan Hillock Embodiment In Contemporary Sculpture Creation

The murals of Shanxi Museum covers more than 1,000 square meters.Among these murals,the number and value of tomb murals in the Northern Dynasty are huge and remarkable.The art of the Northern Dynasty was the connection of Wei-Jin and Sui-Tang dynasties,laying a solid foundation for the splendid Sui and Tang culture.The base of the Northern Wei minister Er Zhurong was based in Xinzhou,in June 2013,researchers from the Shanxi Museum conducted a protective excavation of the Jiuyuan Hillock,epitaph is gone,but the fresco of Shengtian and other exquisite murals is relatively intact.Murals clever god beast image,fierce hunting scenes and grand northern aristocratic life scene reveal the unique style of that era,thus the tomb of the northern dynasty period.The Jiuyuan Hillock tomb murals because of its exquisite art images caused a large number of scholars and discussion.In particular,Qu Chuanfu,a researcher at the Shanxi Museum,mentioned in his paper that the bogy of the Shanhai Jing were found in the murals,and beasts clearly belonging to the Classic of mountains and seas was found in the murals,which once again brought the nine yuan gang murals to the public view.This paper aims to through the northern dynasty tomb murals exquisite,In particular,the bogy in the Jiuyuan Hillock art appreciation,and dig its cultural connotation.In addition,some monster images of the Shanhai Jing are selected for extraction and re-creation,and the plane images are transformed into sculptures.In the process of sculpture creation,the author will reflect the author’s creation steps through three groups of works,Bo,Fengbo and Yushi.This work is based on the tomb murals of Jiuyuan Hillock,and tries to restore some of the different animal images in the contemporary art through the author’s sculpture creation,so as to achieve the innovation and inheritance of the traditional artistic image and Shanxi traditional.
