Folk songs,the abbreviation of folk songs,are gradually formed and developed through long and extensive oral singing in the process of people’s social life,and have a direct and close connection with people’s social life.Its form is short and concise,vivid and active.It skillfully combines the melody and the dialect together,and expresses the feelings that the masses should say and express in a beautiful artistic form.Chinese folk music is vast,rich in content and diverse in forms.Different ethnic groups,different regions and different varieties of music all have their own characteristics.As one of the birthplaces of Chinese national culture,Shanxi has a profound accumulation and social foundation in the creation and development of folk art,and is unique in Chinese folk music.Due to its unique geographical,culture,folk culture and historical factors,Wuxiang County has formed a unique Wuxiang folk song,which is also an important part of Shanxi folk songs.Wuxiang folk songs popular and lively,flexible performance,singing melodious,loved by the local people.In addition,Wuxiang County is also the holy land of the Red Revolution.During the Anti-Japanese War,under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with MAO Zedong as the core,the Taixiang Anti-Japanese Base Area was established.Under the leadership of the base area government,the revolutionary propaganda was carried out in the form of folk music.The government also organized the establishment of revolutionary troupes,united and educated folk artists,and mobilized the masses to participate in the creation.Through the drama movement,the base area government not only achieved the purpose of propagating the revolution in the form of folk culture,but also created a large number of distinctive folk songs,encouraging the broad masses of the people and the soldiers of the Anti-Japanese War.Starting from the four factors that form the style of Wuxiang folk songs,namely,geography,history,culture and folk culture factors,through the collection,arrangement and field investigation of a large number of documents,to study the musical characteristics,cultural characteristics and singing characteristics of Wuxiang folk songs.
