Study On Archaic Words In Xiyang Dialect Of Shanxi

The vocabulary research of Xiyang dialect is relatively weak,and the research results are few.Archaic words are an important part of dialect vocabulary,and this paper takes the archaic words remaining in the Xiyang dialect as the research object,and uses fieldwork,documentary research,comparative method and other methods to study them in depth.The main body of the article consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly introduces Xiyang County and the research overview of Xiyang dialect,the phonetic overview of Xiyang dialect,the research situation of archaic words in dialect,the definition and explanation of archaic words in Xiyang dialect,the research significance,research methods and working steps of this paper.In the second chapter,the author makes textual research on the glyphs of 31 archaic words of the Xiyang dialect whose writing form is unknown from the aspects of phonetic and word meaning,using documentary examples and written evidence as much as possible to prove them,and attempts to list their use in sister dialects for verification.In the third chapter,the author fully examines 84 archaic words with clear written forms from the writing form,pronunciation and word meaning in Xiyang dialect,extension and evolution of word meaning in ancient documents,relationship between literary meaning and dialect meaning,and expression of words in other dialects.Chapter 4 is the summary chapter of the full text,and the author comprehensively analyzes the 115 archaic words of the Xiyang dialect that are studied in the text from the aspects of historical level and the evolution of word meaning.By combing the historical level of archaic words in the dialect,it is concluded that among the archaic words of the Xiyang dialect,the proportion of archaic words from the modern Chinese period is the largest,followed by the archaic words from Medieval Chinese,and the proportion of archaic words from Archaic Chinese is the smallest.Through the analysis of the evolution of the meaning of archaic words in the dialect,we can know that the archaic words that retain the ancient meaning of the words account for85.22% of the total number of archaic words considered,accounting for a large proportion,and the remaining 14.78% of the archaic words have changed compared with the ancient meaning,but the modern dialect meaning of the words is still closely related to the ancient meaning,indicating that the meaning of archaic words in Xiyang dialect is more stable.The last part of the article is the epilogue,On the basis of summarizing the full text,the reasons for retaining many archaic words in Xiyang dialect and the development trend of archaic words in Xiyang dialect are analyzed,and the performance of archaic words of Xiyang dialect in other dialect areas and other dialect points is summarized,and the reasons for this performance are explained.The study of the archaic words of the Xiyang dialect can not only lay the foundation for a comprehensive understanding of the basic vocabulary of the Xiyang dialect,further promote the research of the Xiyang dialect,but also provide reference materials for the compilation and revision of dialect-related dictionaries and the writing of related research papers,which are of great significance for the preservation of dialect materials,dialect research,and Chinese history research.
