A Study Of Preface Written By Qian Qianyi

Qian Qianyi was a literary leader in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.He created a lot of preface,through which he expressed his criticism and new construction of academic development,reflected the social fashion at that time,and also showed his deep foundation in writing as a generation of article giant.This article can be divided into four major parts.The first chapter mainly carries on the comprehensive combing to Qian Qianyi’s preface,counting the number and contents of the preface to Qian Qianyi’s book.At the same time,this part conducts textual research and proofreading about the preface of Qian Qianyi’s collected works and the preface of the corresponding preface works,analyzing the literature value contained in it.Finally,on this basis,the preface of Qian Qianyi’s collected works is chronicled.Beginning with the preface written by Qian Qianyi,the second chapter analyzes why Qian Qianyi’s preface had a huge amount and a high quality.There are three main reasons:the writing requirements of the preface,the explosive growth of books and periodicals in the late Ming dynasty and Qian Qianyi’s personal ascendancy in the literary world.The third and fourth chapters collate and reproduce the more scattered academic ideas in Qian Qianyi’s preface,summing up his criticism on the study of classics,history,Buddhism and literature in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,and put forward his reform strategies,with the total characteristic of“Breaking first and then standing up”.The fifth chapter analyzes Qian Qianyi’s writing strategies and personal characteristics in the preface of the book,pointing out that under the atmosphere of“Beauty without defects”,Qian Qianyi adopted different strategies to create the preface according to the relationship between the preface and the main one.And as a leader of the literary world,Qian Qianyi also showed his profound knowledge and writing ability in the the preface.
