Research On The Topic Selection Of Master Degree Dissertation Of MTCSOL In Chongqing

In recent years,with the globalization of the world economy and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative,the soft power of Chinese culture has been gradually enhanced,the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries have become increasingly frequent,the Chinese language has been widely spread around the world,and the international education of Chinese language has been booming.In this thesis,five universities in Chongqing with authorization of Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(hereinafter referred to as MTCSOL)are selected as the research scope,and 644 master’s degree theses from 2011 to 2021 are selected.On the basis of studying a large number of relevant literature,the author classifies and makes statistics on the collected thesis titles,carries out quantitative analysis and comparative analysis,the characteristics of the topic selection of MTCSOL dissertation are studied.The author analyzes the topic type,the content of the topic and the nationalization involved in the thesis from three perspectives,and finds that the topic selection of Chongqing MTCSOL degree thesis has the following characteristics.firstly,the content is rich and varied,which is extensive.Secondly,the topic meets the professional requirements and has the applicability;Thirdly,the topic selection has obvious characteristics of nationality and diversity.At the same time,there are also some drawbacks with these theses.firstly,the topic type is too concentrated,biased to traditional thematic research.Secondly,the content of the topic is highly similar.The research on Chinese as a second language teaching is far more than that on other content.Thirdly,some thesis propositions are too grand and lack pertinence.The whole thesis is divided into seven chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the reasons for the topic selection,research status and research methods at home and abroad.Chapter 2introduces the general situation of the development of MTCSOL in Chongqing.The main part of this thesis is Chapters 3,4 and 5,which investigates the characteristics and development trend of these theses from the three perspectives of the type of topic selection,the content of topic selection and the localization of topic selection.Chapter 6analyzes the characteristics of the 644 master’s degree dissertations,and puts forward the author’s solutions to the shortcomings of these dissertations,mainly in the following three aspects: from the perspective of students,they can summarize the existing research results and make innovations in the types of topics;they can pay attention to the frontier issues of the subject and obtain the inspiration of the thesis topic through multiple channels.they can be targeted topic selection,clear topic scope.From the perspective of supervisors,they are responsible for the quality control of theses,and should strengthen the guidance of academic thesis writing.Specifically,they can provide targeted guidance to the topic selection of dissertations not only according to students’ interest points but also according to the subject thesis topic selection requirements.From the perspective of training institutions,they can reform the courses related to thesis topic selection and writing to strengthen students’ practical ability.they can establish a perfect thesis topic selection and writing scoring mechanism and reward mechanism;they can provide more practical opportunities and broaden the channels of topic selection.Chapter 7 is the concluding section,which summarizes the findings and shortcomings of the thesis.
