Archaeological Research On The Coins Of The Western Xia Dynasty

The Western Xia Dynasty was a local feudal regime with the Party as the main ethnic group,which had long faced off with the Liao,Song,and Jin dynasties.From the establishment of political power in 1038 AD to the extinction of Mongolia in 1227 AD,they coexisted for 190 years,It has a very important position in the historical development process of our country.The types of coins during the Western Xia period were rich and the amount of excavation was large,making them valuable physical materials for studying the financial system of the Western Xia period.They played an important role in the study of ancient Chinese coins.This article discusses the main research object of the Western Xia coins unearthed from archaeological discoveries and cellars.Firstly,the coins of the Western Xia Dynasty can be divided into two categories: first,the coins in Western Xia script,and second,the coins in Western Xia Chinese script,which can be divided into early and late periods.Secondly,a comparative study will be conducted between the coins of the Western Xia Dynasty and those of the Northern Song Dynasty to explore their similarities,differences,and influences.Finally,analyze and study the financial system of the Western Xia Dynasty from several aspects such as the development of the foundry industry,handicrafts,the legal system of coins,and the circulation of Western Xia coins.The coins of the Western Xia Dynasty comprehensively reflect the political,economic,cultural,and social development of the Western Xia Dynasty.At the same time,it is also an important medium for promoting the exchange and integration of the Dangxiang ethnic group and Han ethnic groups in the Central Plains,and is one of the important elements in the formation of the diverse unity of the Chinese nation.
