The Multiple Dimensions Of Bosch’s Painying

The Hieronymus Bosch was a renaissance "Geek" painter in Netherlands,whose works not only caused a great response at that time,but also had a profound influence on the art development of later generations.The study of the metaphorical dimension in Bosch’s paintings is a hot topic in the academic circle,but there is still a lack of revealing the multidimensional dimension in Bosch’s paintings.In this paper,the use of literature research,style analysis,case study,comparative analysis and historical research methods of the five comprehensive study.On the basis of literature review and an understanding of the historical characteristics of Bosch’s time and his life,and in the light of the diverse art forms and artistic aesthetics that have emerged in modern and contemporary times,this paper makes a case study and comparative analysis of Bosch’s paintings,and finally summarizes the multi-dimensions of Bosch’s paintings.This article analyzes the multidimensional nature of Bosch’s paintings.In the first part,the author summarizes and studies his painting works by studying his time and region.The second part enumerates the multi-dimensions including “ Subject matter”,“Metaphor”,“Grotesque”and so on.The third part analyzes the influence of Bosch’s paintings on his contemporaries and later generations.The last part is about the influence of Bosch’s paintings on my graduation work,including the subject matter,theme,form and technique.To sum up,the innovation of this paper is to explore the multi-dimensionality of Bosch’s paintings from a modern perspective,it concludes multiple dimensions including film,metaphor,grotesque,game,surreal,disaster and religion.It is the complexity and blending of multiple dimensions that make Bosch’s paintings have the character of leading and inheriting,and the high research value and significance of his works are revealed.
