Study On Military Marriage In The Base Areas Of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu

Since the Soviet period,the Communist Party of China has attached importance to the preservation of military marital and family relations,and various revolutionary bases have provided special protection for military marriages in their marriage legislation.The geographical isolation of the base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu,the deep-rooted traditional marriage system,the prevalence of arranged and bought marriages,and the complexity of the marriage situation.Under the marriage reform led by the Communist Party of China,the traditional marriage system inthe base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu was gradually shaken,and the new concept of marriage with equality between men and women and freedom of marriage was affirmed by some people,and the concept of choosing a spouse among young men and women in the base areas was transformed.In order to win the war,the Chinese Communist Party strictly controlled marriages between soldiers,stipulating that military cadres had to meet the conditions before applying for marriage and that there was a corresponding approval process.In order to mobilise the general public to join the war effort,the base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu used the settlement of marriages for soldiers joining the army as one of the means of mobilisation,imposing restrictions on the conditions under which fiancés or wives of revolutionary soldiers could break off their marriages or divorce,and punishing those who obstructed military marriages.The base provided a legal basis and guarantee for the protection of military marriages and the settlement of disputes over military marriages,deterring and combating acts that undermine military marriages and enabling soldiers to fight the war without fear.The base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu not only protects military marriages from decrees and policies,but also treats military families well in many ways,such as labour,material,spiritual,and organizing resistance,to guarantee the basic production and livelihood of military families,and to make the work of superior resistance gradually deepened and institutionalized.The legal provisions protecting military marriages and the policy of supporting the military are led by the border district government and implemented from the top down.The base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu also guided public opinion through propaganda and education of the people,especially the military families,setting up exemplary figures,singing folk ditties,etc.to inspire the revolutionary consciousness of the people and arouse their revolutionary enthusiasm,creating a social atmosphere of supporting the military and the war effort of all people,prompting the people to spontaneously and consciously support the military and protect military marriages,and relieving the soldiers of their worries.Under the ideological propaganda of freedom of marriage and emancipation of women,there was a divorce boom in the base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu,which to a certain extent led to marital chaos and a sharp increase in marital disputes.Most marital disputes are resolved through women’s rescue committees,the government,the judiciary or the courts,and most of the districts and counties in the region adopt the method of mass participation in mediation and persuasion and education.During the war years,disputes over military marriages were complex and difficult to deal with,taking into account the interests of many parties.Although the government and the Women’s Aid Society of the base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu gave priority to the interests of the military in handling military marriage disputes,they also dealt with the disputes themselves in accordance with the laws of the border area.In the context of resistance and revolution,women’s emancipation was achieved along with national liberation.Everything had to be subordinated to the war effort,and marriages in the base areas had to be subordinated to the overall situation of the revolution,and military marriages had an impact on military morale,on the army’s combat effectiveness and revolutionary motivation,and even on the ultimate victory of the war.Therefore,it is historically justified and necessary to restrict and safeguard military marriages in the base area of Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu,to liberate the masses of women,to mobilize the whole population to support the army and protect military marriages.
