| Online teaching is gradually becoming the main choice for overseas Chinese learners,and overseas Chinese children have become a large group of online Chinese learners.Children of Chinese descent have special characteristics: firstly,they are at the “critical stage” of language learning and have the advantage of acquiring a second language at an early age;secondly,their Chinese families provide them with an excellent language environment at home,and they have a certain background and motivation to learn Chinese,and possess a strong listening and speaking ability.At present,online Chinese language teaching for Chinese children has not yet formed a mature teaching mechanism,and the research on the process and characteristics of Chinese children’s acquisition of Chinese is inadequate.Therefore,we hope to explore the characteristics of Chinese children’s acquisition of Chinese in English-speaking countries in the context of online teaching,taking 60 English-speaking Chinese children from W institution as an example,and combining our own practice in online Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children.The article is divided into eight chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the reason and significance of the topic,research review,theoretical basis,research objects,research ideas and research methods;the second chapter introduces and summarizes the characteristics and current situation of online Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children,by introducing the concept and model of online Chinese teaching mode,summarizing its advantages and disadvantages,analyzing the special features of online Chinese teaching for overseas Chinese children,and introducing the current situation of Chinese learning.Chapters three to six focus on four aspects of the target learners including: phonetics,vocabulary,grammar and Chinese characters.Through observing and collecting learners’ classroom performance,post-class assignments,test papers and test materials under the online teaching mode,and using bias analysis and comparative analysis as the main research tools,the chapters summarize the characteristics of Chinese children’s acquisition of Chinese in English-speaking countries and explore the causes of these characteristics.Chapter seven proposes specific,feasible and targeted teaching strategies based on the various types of bias and other acquisition performances,taking into account which takes the learners’ specificities and the advantages and disadvantages of online teaching modes into account.Chapter eight concludes with a summary of the acquisition characteristics listed and summarized in this paper and their causes.It is found that the particularities of Chinese children in English-speaking countries have both facilitative and hindering effects on their acquisition of Chinese.The younger age,Chinese family background and home language environment are all advantages for their acquisition of Chinese,but the sociolinguistics environment of general English also has a greater impact on their acquisition of Chinese,with the greatest impact on phonology and most of the errors in various language elements being related to English.In addition,although the advantages of online Chinese language teaching that breaks the time and space limitations are very great,there are also disadvantages that cannot be ignored,which limit the learners’ efficient acquisition,such as the disadvantage of improving their literacy skills.It is hoped that through the discussion in this paper,we can further understand the acquisition characteristics of overseas Chinese children at the learners’ perspective of the online Chinese language teaching model and make a modest contribution to the construction and development from the viewpoint of teaching. |
