Research On The Anti-japanese Propaganda In The New Digest

Under the leadership of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of The Communist Party of China,The New Digest was established in Shanghai during the Period of “Gudao”,it published as a foreign signboard.It overcame numerous difficulties and obstacles,aimed at Shanghai readers,took the message of the Anti-Japanese War as the main line,and took solidarity against Japan as the purpose,and made indelible contributions to the war of Resistance.Although it only lasted sixteen months,it occupies an important position in the history of modern Chinese journalism.Combining with the perspective of political communication,this article studies the anti-Japanese propaganda of The New Digest by using the theories of political socialization and political symbols and text analysis methods,analyzes the political orientation and political implications of the report content,and probes into its flexible propaganda strategies based on local conditions and social effects.The main body of this article consists of four chapters: the first chapter is the introduction,which mainly explains the research background of this thesis,sorts out the research status of "Yang Qi Newspaper" and The New Digest in the "isolated island" period,and last part is about the innovation of this thesis.Chapter two takes the basic skills of "shaping cognition" as reference,selects three aspects: "war dynamics","strategic explanation" and "diplomatic orientation",and uses abundant examples of news reports to explain the propaganda characteristics of The New Digest.Chapter three takes "constructing identity" as the main line,discusses how The New Digest wove the issue of the legitimacy of the Communist Party of China into the propaganda of the AntiJapanese War,which is the proper meaning of the propaganda of the AntiJapanese War.The New Digest promoted the legitimacy of the CPC by explaining the "guerrilla strategy","Three Principles of the People" and "United front".The fourth chapter discusses that The New Digest used various forms and targeted publicity methods and strategies.Including the following types: use ceremony of Remembrance Day,give advice to people in different industries,and mobilization of the public to support the Anti-Japanese War with specific actions.The New Digest reported the news of China’s Anti-Japanese War to the readers in a timely manner,introduced the situation of the world Anti-Fascist War,and built up the belief that justice will prevail.The New Digest was keenly aware of the confusion and hesitate of the people on the "isolated island",carried out targeted propaganda to them,cultivated their national concept and national consciousness,and encouraged them to persist in the war of resistance.It was newspapers like The New Digest built the "heart defense" for guarding Shanghai.
