| Guang Ya Shu Yi by Qian Da Zhao and Guang Ya Shu Zheng by Wang Nian Sun are two interpretive and investigative works of Guang Ya.As a supplement to Er Ya,Guang Ya is a professional work by Zhang Yi,a scholar of the Three Kingdoms of Wei,that explains the meaning of words.Therefore,the inherent relationship is found between Er Ya and Guang Ya in terms of interpretation.Guang Ya Shu Yi and Guang Ya Shu Zheng(hereinafter referred to as “Er Shu”),as two research-oriented works on Guang Ya,they have plenty of remarkable similarities in the field of interpretation.Meanwhile,there are series subjective and objective reasons for interpretive differences of “Er Shu”.The similarities and differences on interpretation of “Er Shu” are mainly manifested in four aspects.First of all,Guang Ya Shu Yi is neater and completer and Guang Ya Shu Zheng is more concise in terms of stylistic rules and layout of interpretation.In the next place,despite the content of “Er Shu” is very similar,Guang Ya Shu Zheng focuses on clarifying the phonetic-semantic relations among Chinese characters and applying the method of inference meanings from sounds and Guang Ya Shu Yi focuses on invoking ancient literatures.In addition,Guang Ya Shu Yi and Guang Ya Shu Zheng use many essential methods of interpretation,such as verifying the literature language,inference meanings from character patterns,identifying the character patterns,inference meanings from sounds,examining ancient societies,researching derivatives,reviewing article regulations,etc.On the whole,Guang Ya Shu Zheng is expert in inference meanings from sounds,and Guang Ya Shu Yi is good at quoting chapter and verse.Finally,the common achievements of “Er Shu” are quoting contemporary scholars’ opinions.And they present an objective,rigorous,humble attitude of interpretation throughout “Er Shu”.In the meantime,there are some obvious errors and issues in “Er Shu”,which are about bibliographic citations,original documents and interpretation.Thus,the interpretation of “Er Shu” has their own achievements and deficiencies. |
