Based on previous research,we conducted a quantitative observation and analysis of the online classroom of a sophomore intensive reading course for international students at Shanghai International Studies University(SISU),and tried our best to reflect the interaction in the online classroom in a realistic and effective way.The classroom research tool chosen was the Flanders Interaction Analysis System(FIAS),which has a long history as a classroom research tool and has been used in various social research studies,proving its data validity and reliability.In addition to the use of the improved Flanders Interaction Analysis System(i FIAS),we will also supplement the study with interviews with the teacher to help enrich the findings of the study.Our research shows that in the online education process,the verbal structure is still dominated by the teacher’s words,with the students taking a smaller part in the interaction process and having less subjectivity;in terms of teaching style,teacher A is good at exerting a positive influence on the students,thus livening up the class and being receptive to the students’ views;in terms of the emotional atmosphere of the classroom,the teacher and students have a cordial emotional atmosphere,with the main body of the course presenting a more In terms of teacher-student questions and answers,the teacher asks a large number of questions,but most of them are closed questions and there is a lack of open-ended questions,and the students do not ask many questions of their own accord.
