Research On Reinvigorate Mandarin Textbook

Chinese textbook of elementary school during the Republic of China era made a major change from traditional Mongolian reading materials to modern language textbooks,which laid a solid foundation for the construction of today’s Chinese textbook of elementary school.Reinvigorate Mandarin Textbook is a representative Chinese textbook of elementary school in the Republic of China era.The thesis takes the twelve teaching materials of the Reinvigorate Mandarin Textbook as the object of the study,aims to provide some inspiration for the compilation of existing Chinese textbook of elementary school and teaching by taking the essence and removing the dross based on a comprehensive and in-depth study of its writing concept,the content of its selection and the way it is written.The paper consists of five parts as follows:Introduction,mainly introduce the origin of the topic,significance of the research,current status of the research and research methods.The first chapter analyzes the background for writing Reinvigorate Mandarin Textbook,including the political and cultural background,the educational development background,and the motivation of the Commercial Press for publishing.The second chapter is a study of the concept,content and style of textbooks.The concept of the textbook is analyzed in terms of both child-centered and served for politics.The content of the textbook is analyzed from five perspectives: moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and labor.The style of the textbook is analyzed from four aspects: stylistic construction,exercise arrangement,illustration and language writing.The third chapter analyses the significance and limitations of the materials.The textbook has both the significance and limitations of its time.On the one hand,it is concerned with social reality,focuses on ideological enlightenment,reform and innovation,and highlights the values of the times.It is also childcentered and focuses on child orientation.On the other hand,the teaching materials are in line with the current trend,highlighting political indoctrination and full of repression and anxiety.In the fourth chapter,based on the previous study,we explore the practical value of the Reinvigorate Mandarin Textbook from three aspects: writing philosophy,writing experience and teachers’ teaching.
