At the end of the twentieth century, the advent of the DV era led to a gradual shift in the narrative of Chinese documentaries towards a civilian perspective. As an important form of documentary creation in the populist and private perspective of documentary, family documentary makes the social microcosm coalesce in small families and is unique in its unique personal and self-searching perspective by exploring topics such as the delicate relationship between the filmmaker’s family members and the trauma in daily life.Family documentaries set themselves apart from other types of documentaries through their extreme pursuit of truth and closeness to their subjects.Feminine consciousness is an awareness of the female self.Women in the new era are assuming multiple roles in society, family and themselves, and the recognition of self-worth and social value is the goal women pursue. The boom of family documentaries plays a very important role in the presentation of feminism in documentariesFrom a female creator’s perspective, the author’s graduation work "Yiyaya" takes family members as its recording objects and reflects contemporary women’s views on fertility and values through the presentation of daily family life. The thesis analyzes and studies the expression of women’s consciousness in the graduation work "Yiyaya" and related representative family documentaries as examples. The thesis is divided into four main parts:the first part outlines the definition and development of the concept of family documentary and female consciousness;the second part discusses the narrative expression of female consciousness in family documentary;the third part focuses on the analysis of female perspective and female dilemma in family documentary. The last part is a reflection on the creation of the graduation work "Yiyaya",which summarizes the experience of creating family documentaries, hoping to provide some reference for the creation of similar documentaries in the future.
