| Parents with special children bear heavy parenting pressure and easily fall into the risk of parental burnout(PB).Parental burnout damages the physical and mental health of the parents with special children and has various adverse effects on their children. This paper takes parents with special children as the research object and parental burnout as the research variable to study the relationship between psychological flexibility and parental burnout, and on this basis discusses the effect of Acceptance and Commitment therapy-based Group(ACT-G)counseling on the intervention of psychological flexibility of parents with special children to reduce their parental burnout. This paper aims to enrich the research on parental burnout with special children and provide empirical and strategic support for future research. There are two studies in this paper. In the first study,303 parents of children in a special school in Liaocheng were surveyed by questionnaire to study the relationship between psychological flexibility and parental burnout. In study 2,30 volunteers with a score of parental burnout 1.5 standard deviations above the average were recruited from the parents with special children in study 1,and randomly matched into the experimental group and the control group.15 volunteers in the experimental group received eight ACT-G counseling, and 15 volunteers in the control group participated in family education activities as a waiting group. The effectiveness of ACT-G counseling in intervention of parental burnout with special children was discussed according to the comparison of the results of pre-test and post-test between the experimental group and the control group. The long-term effect of ACT-G counseling in intervention of parental burnout was discussed according to the comparison of the results of post-test and follow-up test two months later. The Chinese version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire,Second Edition(Empirical avoidance)and the Chinese version of the Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire(cognitive fusion)were used to evaluate psychological flexibility. The Parental Burnout Assessment Scale(PBA)was used to measure parental burnout, and the data were analyzed using SPSS24.0.The results of study 1 showed that parents with special children had higher levels of parental burnout. The psychological flexibility of parents with special children was negatively correlated with parental burnout, and the psychological flexibility could predict parental burnout negatively. The results of the second study showed that the experimental group had significant differences in the scores of empirical avoidance and cognitive fusion, and the experimental group significantly decreased the scores of empirical avoidance and cognitive fusion, that is,the level of psychological flexibility was significantly improved. The score of parental burnout in the experimental group was significantly different from that in the control group, and the score of parental burnout in the experimental group was significantly reduced. Two months later, the result of follow-up test showed that the score of parental burnout in the experimental group continued to decrease and was significantly different from the post-test result. This paper draws the following conclusions: Psychological flexibility of parents with special children can negatively predict parental burnout.Acceptance and Commitment therapy-based group counseling can improve the psychological flexibility of parents with special children, and reduce their parental burnout through the improvement of psychological flexibility, and this intervention has a long-term effect. |
