The Influence Of Qian Xuan’s Green Landscape Technique On "Beautiful Scenery Of Mountains And Rivers"

After the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty,Chinese painting entered a new phase of development,which was characterized by an emphasis on the preservation of ancient traditions and an aspiration towards the divine.This artistic movement propelled the flourishing development of literati painting in later generations,leading to the emergence of numerous renowned artists.Qian Xuan,known as one of the "eight beauties of Wu Xing",is a versatile painter.He is good at landscape,flowers,birds and figures.Especially,landscape is mainly colored in green,with fresh and elegant tone and simple brushwork,with distinct personal artistic characteristics.His landscape paintings were particularly notable for their blue and green tones,which were characterized by a fresh and elegant color scheme and a simple yet vigorous brushwork that embodied a distinctive personal artistic style.Qian’s works often featured his place of residence as their subject matter,with the aim of conveying the theme of reclusive life.His square and ancient strokes in blue and green tones had a significant influence on literati painting in later generations.Qian Xuan inherited the style painting of the Song Dynasty and the literati painting of the Yuan Dynasty.He is an important transitional painter.Through a study of Qian Xuan’s brushwork,composition,and color techniques in his landscape paintings,the author of this paper sought to comprehend the artistic characteristics of Qian Xuan’s blue and green landscape paintings.Furthermore,the author conducted experiments and attempts with the green and blue painting method,in order to summarize and expound on the influence of Qian Xuan’s blue and green landscape techniques on the author’s own creative work.This paper is structured into four chapters that focus on the influence of Qian Xuan’s blue and green landscape techniques on the work entitled "Beautiful Scenery of Mountains and Rivers." The first chapter begins with an examination of Qian Xuan’s life and cultural background,which serves to elucidate the influence of his landscape painting style.The second chapter analyzes the compositional,brushwork,and color characteristics of Qian Xuan’s techniques,providing a foundation for the author’s own work.The third chapter entails a study and summary of the painting techniques through the process of copying Qian Xuan’s blue and green landscape works,and explores the initial creative attempts by the author.In addition,the graduation creation process is analyzed under the influence of Qian Xuan’s paintings.Finally,the fourth chapter reflects on the author’s personal experiences and thoughts throughout the creative process.
