At the beginning of the 20 th century,China was facing the historical transformation of music education,and a large number of outstanding music educators emerged who made important contributions to the process of promoting the development of music education in China,of which Zhou Shu’an was a representative.Zhou Shu ’an(1894-1974),a famous music educator,composer and conductor,was one of the first batch of female students studying in the United States in China.She studied in the United States twice,learning advanced vocal singing techniques,piano,composition and other skills and theoretical knowledge.After returning to China,she has been engaged in music education,participated in the construction of the National Conservatory of Music,the first high school in China,compiled many music textbooks,created many children ’s songs,art songs and chorus songs for teaching,and compiled foreign vocal music songs for professional music teaching.He trained excellent singers and music educators such as Lang Minxiu,Yu Yixuan,Zhang Quan,Hu Ran,Sun Dezhi,Lv Ji,Lao Jingxian,and published many valuable vocal music education literary theories.Zhou Shuan ’s music education practice and theory affect the development of Chinese music education,especially professional music education and children ’s education,and promote the process of Chinese music education.Rich experience and excellent professional ability have formed Zhou Shuan ’s unique music education achievements and thoughts,making her a pioneer in Chinese music education.However,through literature research,the exploration of Zhou Shu ’an in the history of Chinese music and the history of Chinese music education is not comprehensive enough.Due to various reasons,Zhou Shu ’an as a music educator has not received the attention and comprehensive research that the academic community should have.Based on this understanding,this paper takes the music educator Zhou Shu ’an as the research object,and uses the literature method,comparative method,and historical research method to explore Zhou Shu ’an ’s character background,practical research results,and music education concepts,so as to sort out and summarize Zhou Shu ’an ’s music education concept.This paper consists of introduction,Zhou Shu ’an ’s life experience,music education achievements,music education thought,Zhou Shu ’an ’s evaluation and enlightenment,and conclusion.The primary emphasis of the introduction is on the source of the difficulty,the research object,the scope of the study,the academic review,the techniques used,and the innovation and significance.The text is mainly discussed from four parts: The first part,through the combing and analysis of Zhou Shu ’an ’s life trajectory,combines the social and historical background to restore Zhou Shu ’an in history,including her study experience and work experience,to find out the relevant factors affecting her contribution to music education.The second part explores the achievements of Zhou Shu ’an ’s music education,including the compilation of music textbooks,the creation of songs,the cultivation of representative vocal singers and the published vocal music education theory.By summarizing and studying the music textbooks and songs written by her in teaching,as well as the excellent musicians cultivated in vocal music teaching and the published important vocal music education research theory,to study her music education achievements.The third part mainly grasps the music education thought embodied in Zhou Shu’ an ’s music education practice,and divides different levels according to the connotation and characteristics,including the music teaching thought,music education thought and music teaching method thought embodied in music education.On the basis of the first three parts,the fourth part objectively evaluates Zhou Shu ’an,a historical figure,and takes Zhou Shu’an ’s music education practice and music education thought into reality,and obtains the enlightenment to the development of contemporary music education.
