| In the 1950 s and 1960 s,most developed Western capitalist countries and some developing countries began to transition from a productive society to a consumer society.After entering the consumer society,art schools with popular and popular styles emerged in the art field to confront traditional art models.Compared with traditional art,artistic creation with the theme of consumer culture has undergone changes in content,form,and concepts.After the 1990 s,new technologies brought about visual changes,and artistic creations with consumer culture as the theme underwent further development.As a visual art,photography is one of the means for artists to express their ideas,and has a natural advantage in expressing consumer cultural themes.This paper attempts to sort out the social background of consumer culture attachment after entering the consumer society,and analyze the basic characteristics of the construction of contemporary photographic images in the context of consumer culture.This article first analyzes the change of the meaning of consumption,and then defines the concept of “ Consumption culture ”.From three angles,group,commodity and the relationship between people and Commodities,the characteristics of consumer culture are analyzed.The second part is a brief introduction to the early stages of consumer culture in the arts,with an emphasis on the postmodern art influence of pop art and the construction of photographic images under the influence of consumer culture.Photography has been influenced by artistic trends and schools of thought have produced internal changes.On the basis of concept first,vision becomes a kind of language,and by shooting the daily disintegration of modernism has“Grand narrative” characteristics.In the third part of the thesis,the author analyzes the further development of the construction of photography language under the new industrial life mode and the theme of consumption culture.In the middle and late 20 th century,the concept of the symbol of consumer culture entered people’s thoughts more deeply,and people’s pursuit of the value of commodity symbol became more intense.Since the 1990 s new technologies have brought about a visual revolution.Guy Debord(1931-1994),in his book the Society of the landscape,proposes to transform the accumulation of goods in Das Kapital into that of the landscape.The accumulation of the landscape has become more pronounced since the 1990 s.First of all,contemporary photography of consumer culture more through the shooting of daily life,showing the impact of information globalization,consumer culture on people’s lives in the imperceptible influence.At the same time,using a large number of tools and the combination of virtual and digital workflow to create art works in new forms,so that the image to the“Extreme” refinement,in order to more intuitive performance of the concept of consumer culture.In contemporary photography,the consumption attributes and symbols in the construction of images are more obvious.These symbols are in a visual image,also known as the form of visual imagery.Under the context of consumer culture,photographers use the construction of photographic image to express the deep meaning behind the symbol through the visible entity symbol.The last part of the text is the elaboration of individual works.In the specific analysis of consumer culture as the theme of the work of photographers,the practice of photography and theory.From a theoretical point of view,to re-think the process of personal creation and works,re-identify the problems of personal creation,the works of the concept of combing.At last,the thesis summarizes the whole thesis,and discusses the integration of the thesis“The construction of contemporary photographic image in the context of consumer culture” and the key words of the article. |
