| Shao Li,a representative of Henan writers since the new century, inherits the characteristics of Henan vernacular literature and is particularly good at writing about people and events in the dialogue and interaction between urban and rural areas. Her experience as a deputy county governor, her constant concern for urban-rural relations, and her delicate sensitivity as a woman have contributed to her unique writing about peasants moving into the city, creating a number of images of peasants moving into the city.Through a close reading of Shao Li’s works on urban-rural relations over the past two decades, and with reference to research findings on Shao Li,as well as research papers on the image of peasants moving into the city and urban-rural relations, this thesis systematically examines Shao Li’s image of peasants moving into the city in the context of urban-rural interaction. The text is divided into five parts. The introductory part outlines the origin and purpose of this paper, the current status, the research method and the research framework.Chapter 1,Multiple drivers: the writing mode of Shao Li’s " Peasants Moving into the City" theme, three drivers of peasants moving to the city at the current stage of national development under Shao Li’s writing,-material desire, identity, and spirituality-are extracted as characteristics for classifying the images of peasants moving to the city, and the changes in these images of peasants before and after they move into the city, systematically reflecting the richness and hierarchy of urban-rural relations.Chapter 2,Between Town and Country: The Urban-Rural Dichotomy and the Image of the Peasant in Shao Li’s Writings,an analysis of urban and rural attractiveness in the current stage in Shao Li’s writing, which reflect the complexity and multi-directionality of urban-rural interaction.Chapter3,The National Perspective of Shao Li’s "Peasants Moving into the City" Writing,an alysis of Shao Li’s epic images of peasants moving into the city in various eras of national development, which point to the reality of urban-rural relations under the national historical policies and reflect the peasant style of a particular era.The concluding section summarises the entire paper. |
