Generally speaking, the emergence of conflict often leads to the alienation or breakdown of the relationship between two or more parties in communication, but the basic trend of human communication is harmony, which requires us to pay attention to conflict communication and conflict discourse. However, with the arrival of the golden age of cognitive development and the enhancement of self-awareness,teenagers often have conflicts in the communication process with their peers, leading to verbal and physical conflicts. However,at present, there is a lack of research on the conflict discourse of juveniles in the Chinese context. Therefore, this paper takes the conflict discourse among adolescents from Seasons 16 to 19 of X-change,an experiential reality show of Hunan Satellite TV,as the corpus, and makes a targeted qualitative and quantitative analysis of the types, pragmatic patterns and pragmatic features of adolescent conflicts in the Chinese context. And put forward effective conflict mitigation strategies to provide reference for teenagers’ conflict mitigation and resolution in real life. The thesis is divided into six chapters:Chapter 1 is the introduction, which mainly introduces the reason of topic selection, research status, research content and methods, research objectives and significance of this paper,as well as the definition of "conflict discourse","turn" and other related concepts, and explains the source of corpus and translation symbols.Chapter 2 explores the typical characteristics of adolescent conflict discourse from two dimensions: the intensity of conflict and the nature of conflict. The results show that the conflict discourse among adolescents presents in a balanced manner in different degrees of intensity, with no obvious tendency. And cognitive conflict plays a dominant role in the adolescent group, and cognitive difference is the main cause of conflict. At the same time, emotional conflict cannot be ignored, because teenagers sometimes target people rather than objects.Chapter 3 makes an in-depth analysis of the basic pragmatic models of adolescent conflict discourse in each stage. In the initiation stage, questioning and directive discourse are most likely to cause adolescent conflicts. In the conflict maintenance stage, adolescents are more likely to choose direct and positive refutation and confrontation rather than indirect irony or avoidance. At the end stage, adolescents chose more ways to shelve conflicts, and took avoidance and cold treatment. In addition, ending conflict through physical violence is also a way that teenagers are not afraid to use.Chapter 4 discusses the significant pragmatic features of conflict discourse among adolescents, including the collision of conflict language, the directness of speech acts, the emotionality of conflict subjects, the repeatability of conflict processes, and the destructiveness of conflict results.Chapter 5 combines the above analysis and the characteristics of adolescent psychological development, and puts forward five effective conflict mitigation strategies, including cooperation and coordination strategy, diversion strategy, compromise strategy, humor strategy and third party assistance strategy.Chapter 6 is the conclusion, which summarizes the important conclusions of this paper and points out the shortcomings of this paper.
