Clinical Observation On The Efficacy Of Electroacupuncture, Conventional Acupuncture And Sham Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthriti

Objectives:In this study,the differences in the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture,ordinary acupuncture and sham acupuncture on knee osteoarthritis(KOA)and the improvement in the quality of life of patients were compared to clarify the differences in the efficacy and efficacy of electroacupuncture and ordinary acupuncture on knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:A randomized controlled trial was used in this study.The 90 patients with knee osteoarthritis who met the inclusion criteria were divided into the area group random method and the simple random method according to 1:1:1 into the electroacupuncture group,the ordinary acupuncture group and the false acupuncture group,with 15 cases falling off,25 cases in the ordinary acupuncture group,27 cases in the electroacupuncture group and 23 cases in the false acupuncture group.Electroacupuncture group received electroacupuncture treatment,ordinary acupuncture group received ordinary acupuncture treatment,and sham acupuncture group received non-meridian and non-acupoint superficial acupuncture,3 times a week,a total of 8 weeks.Before,8 weeks,16 weeks,and 26 weeks after treatment,patients were evaluated with pain visual analogue scale,the western Ontario and McMaster Index(WOMAC)and health-related quality of life sf-12(sf-12).Result:(1)at the end of 8-week treatment,VAS scale scores in the thrce groups were better than before treatment(P<0.05).During the follow-up at week 16 and 26,VAS scale scores in the ordinary acupuncture group and electroacupuncture group were still better than before treatment(P<0.05),while VAS scale scores in the sham acupuncture group were not significantly different from before treatment(P>0.05).At 8 weeks,the score of electroacupuncture group was better than that of ordinary acupuncture group(P<0.05),and the score of both groups was better than that of sham acupuncture group(P<0.05).At week 16 and 26,there was no difference between the ordinary acupuncture group and the electroacupuncture group(P>0.05),and the scores of both groups were better than that of the sham acupuncture group(P<0.05).(2)at the end of 8-week treatment,WOMAC scale scores in the three groups were better than before treatment(P<0.05).At 16 and 26 weeks of follow-up,the WOMAC scale score of the ordinary acupuncture group and electroacupuncture group was still better than that before treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in WOMAC scale score between the sham acupuncture group and the treatment group(P>0.05).At 8 weeks,the score of electroacupuncture group was better than that of ordinary acupuncture group(P<0.05),and the score of both groups was better than that of sham acupuncture group(P<0.05).At week 16 and 26,the difference between the ordinary acupuncture group and the electroacupuncture group was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the scores of both groups were better than that of the sham acupuncture group(P<0.05).(3)at each time point,the PCS scores of the sf-12 scale in the electroacupuncture group were all better than before treatment(P<0.05),and there was no difference between the ordinary acupuncture group and the sham acupuncture group and before treatment(P>0.05).At each time point,the score of electroacupuncture group was better than that of ordinary acupuncture group and false acupuncture group(P<0.05).There was no difference between the normal acupuncture group and the sham acupuncture group(P>0.05).(4)at week 8 and week 16,the MCS score of sf-12 scale in the electroacupuncture group was better than that before treatment(P<0.05),and there was no difference at week 26 compared with that before treatment(P>0.05).There was no difference between the normal acupuncture group and the sham acupuncture group before treatment(P>0.05).At each time point,pairwise comparison between the three groups showed no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)electroacupuncture,ordinary acupuncture and fake acupuncture all have short-term effects on the pain symptoms of KOA,and the short-term effects of electroacupuncture and regular acupuncture are better than that of fake acupuncture.False acupuncture does not have long-term effect,while electroacupuncture and ordinary acupuncture have clear long-term effect.At the same time,electroacupuncture is superior to ordinary acupuncture in both short-term and long-term effects.(2)electroacupuncture,ordinary acupuncture and false acupuncture all have short-term effects on the comprehensive symptoms of KOA,and the short-term effects of electroacupuncture and ordinary acupuncture are better than that of false acupuncture.False acupuncture does not have long-term effect,while electroacupuncture and ordinary acupuncture have clear long-term effect.At the same time,electroacupuncture is superior to ordinary acupuncture in both short-term and long-term effects.(3)electroacupuncture has a certain short-term and long-term effect on the improvement of physiological dimension of life quality,while ordinary acupuncture and false acupuncture have no improvement effect,and the effect of electroacupuncture is better than ordinary acupuncture and false acupuncture.(4)on the improvement of psychological dimension of life quality,the short-term and long-term effects of electroacupuncture are not better than ordinary acupuncture and false acupuncture.
