Objective: Qizhutongfu prescription was used to treat Qi deficiency constipation, and its clinical efficacy and safety were observed to provide basis for clinical promotion. Methods: A total of 60 patients with Qi deficiency constipation in the inpatient department of anorectal Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of traditional Chinese medicine from January 2021 to December 2021 were randomly divided into treatment grou p and control group, with 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Qizhutongfu prescription(the traditional Chinese medicine is decocted by the traditional Chinese medicine decocting room of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of traditional Chinese medicine,150ml/bag,take it gently, one dose a day,and take one bag in the morning and half an hour after dinner). The control group was treated with Prucalopride Succinate Tablets orally(oral,2mg once, once a day, half an hour after meals). The treatment course of the two groups was 4 weeks.During the study, the changes of TCM symptom score, quality of life score and safety index of the two groups of subjects before and after treatment were truthfully recorded to evaluate its clinical efficacy and safety. And the subjects were followed up 2 months after the end of treatment to observe the recurrence rate of the two groups.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in general conditions between the two groups(P > 0.05),including age, gender and course of disease.(2)The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.67%,which was better than that of the control group(76.67%,P < 0.05);(3)The total score of TCM symptoms, the scores of main and secondary symptoms and the score of quality of life in the two groups before and after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P < 0.05);After treatment, the total score of TCM symptoms, the main symptoms including stool traits, defecation effort, shortness of br eath after defecation, secondary symptom scores and quality of life score were compared between the two groups(P < 0.05),with statistical significance. There was no significant difference in defecation frequency between groups after treatment(P > 0.05);(4)After 2 months of follow-up,2 cases recurred in the treatment group, with a recurrence rate of 7.69%,and 9 cases recurred in the control group, with a recurrence rate of 36.00%.The recurrence rate in the treatment group was lower than that in the co ntrol group(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Qizhutongfu prescription is better than Prucalopride Succinate Tablets in the treatment of qi deficiency constipation. It is more significant than Prucalopride Succinate Tablets in improving the subjects’ stool character istics, laborious defecation, sweating and shortness of breath after forced defecation, fatigue after defecation, mental fatigue and laziness, and improving the subjects’ quality of life. There was no significant difference in improving defecation frequency between the two groups.Qizhutongfu prescription has significant clinical effect, high safety and low recurrence rate, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
