Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy including the near and long-term efficacy of the treatment of functional dyspepsia with liver and stomach disharmony with Liqi Xiaopi Decoction, and to compare it with Mosapride Citrate Tablets to provide a new treatment method for functional dyspepsia with hepatic and gastric disharmony.Material and methods: This study adopts the case-control research method in observational research. The study population was derived from 117 patients diagnosed with functional dyspepsia of the liver-stomach disharmony type in the outpatient clinic of Professor Jiang Shumin at the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between September 2019 and March 2021,who were divided into the Chinese medicine group and the Western medicine group based on the treatment method of the patients’ independent will. There are 62 patients in Chinese medicine group and 55 patients in Western medicine group. The Chinese herbal group was treated with Liqi Xiaopi Decoction, and the Western herbal group was treated with the tablet Mosapride Citrate. After about 5 weeks of continuous treatment, the TCM symptom scores and SF-36 quality of life scores were evaluated before and after treatment and at each time point of 1,3 and 6 months after discontinuation of treatment in both groups, and were analyzed.Result:1.TCM symptom point comparison: Compared with pretreatment, the total score and the score for each symptom were reduced in both groups(P<0.05).At each time node, the total points of the Chinese medicine group were lower than those of the Western medicine group(P<0.05).In the comparison of the scores of the two groups, the two symptom scores of seizures or aggravation due to emotional disorders and frequent belching were significantly lower in the Chinese medicine group than in the Western medicine group after treatment(P<0.05),while the differences in other symptom scores were not significant(P>0.05).After treatment for a while, the score of upset symptoms did not decrease significantly one month after treatment(P>0.05),and the scores of other symptoms at various time points after treatment were better in the Chinese medicine group than in the Western medicine group(P<0.05).2.Comparison of the efficacy of clinical symptoms: After treatment, the total effective rate of the Chinese medicine group and the Western medicine group were 93.54% and 83.64%,respectively.In the Chinese medicine group, the clinical cure rate was 12.9%,the mean efficacy was 66.13%,the efficacy rate was 14.52 %,and ineffective rate was 6.45%.In the Western medicine group, the clinical cure rate was 14.55%,the market rate was 21.82%,the effective rate was 47.27%,and the ineffective rate was 16.36%.After the Mann-Whitney U test,Z=-3.500,P<0.05,the difference is statistically significant.3.Comparison of SF-36 quality of life scores: Compared with the pre-treatment period, the PCS and MCS scores as well as the scores of each dimension were higher in both groups(P<0.05).After treatment,1 month after treatment, and 3 months after treatment, the difference between the physical and psychological composite scores of the two groups was not significant(P>0.05),and the scores of the Chinese medicine group were significantly higher than those of the Western medicine group only when the medication was stopped for 6 months(P<0.05).The comparison of the scores of each dimension showed that at all time points, the scores of the dimensions improved in both groups, but the difference in the improvement of the mental health and emotional functioning dimensions between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)at post-treatment and 6 months post-treatment,and the difference in the improvement of both in other dimensions at other times was not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.Comparison of recurrence rate: At 1 month after treatment, the recurrence rate was 5.17%versus 15.22% in the Chinese herbal group and the Western medicine group, respectively.Although patients in both groups had recurrence, the difference in their recurrence rates was not statistically significant(P>0.05).From 3 months after treatment to 6 months after treatment, the number of recurrences in both groups increased. The recurrence rate of the traditional Chinese medicine group increased from 8.62% to 15.52%,and the recurrence rate of the Western medicine group increased from 23.91% to 32.61%.The recurrence rate in the Western medicine group was significantly higher than that in the traditional Chinese medicine group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Liqi Xiaopi Decoction in the treatment of liver-stomach discordant FD has obvious improvement in clinical symptoms, improved quality of life, high effective rate, low recurrence rate,no obvious adverse reactions, and stable curative effect,so the overall curative effect is better than mosapride citrate tablets.2.In terms of short-term efficacy, the two have similar effects in improving the quality of life of patients;however,in improving the clinical symptoms of patients,Liqi Xiaopi Decoction is better than Mosapride Citrate Tablets.3.In terms of long-term efficacy,Liqi Xiaopi Decoction has advantages that cannot be ignored in terms of improving the quality of life of patients and improving the clinical symptoms of patients, compared with Mosapride Citrate Tablets, and it is worthy of further research and promotion.
