Effect Of Jinyu Mouthwash On Reducing Oral Complications In Patients With Severe Craniocerebral Injur

Objective:To compare the effects of Jin yu mouthwash and normal saline on oral p H value,lip moistness,oral mucositis grade,oral function score and gingivitis status of patients,and to explore the application value of Jinyu mouthwash in reducing oral complications in patients with severe craniocerebral injuryMethods:In this study,after passing the review of the Ethics Committee,patients with severe craniocerebral injury who were admitted to the surgical ICU of a third-class A hospital in Hunan Province from February 2022 to December 2022 and who met the criteria for admission were selected and grouped according to the time sequence.43 patients admitted from February 2022 to June 2022 were selected as the control group.Forty-three patients admitted from July to December 2022 were selected as the experimental group.The experimental group received oral care with Jinyu mouthwash once a day in the morning,afternoon and evening,while the control group received oral care with normal saline at the same time.Both groups were intervened for 7days.Oral p H value,lip wetness,oral mucositis,oral function score,and gingivitis were measured or collected before intervention,on day 1,day 3,and day 7 after intervention,respectively,and the differences in each observation index between the two groups were compared.SPSS 21.0 software was used to process and analyze the data.Mean ± standard deviation(x±s),median and quartile [M(P25,P75)],Shapiro-Wilk test,Levene test,independent sample T-test,Mann-Whitney U test(rank sum),and Pearson were used 2.Testing generalized estimating equation(GEE),repeated measurement variance analysis and other statistical methodsResults:1.Comparison of baseline data between the two groups: A total of 86 patients were included,43 in each group.There was no statistical significance in the comparison of baseline data between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating comparability.2.Comparison of oral p H value between the two groups: GEE model results: intergroup effect(P>0.05),time effect(P<0.05),interaction effect(P>0.05),indicating that there was no statistical significance in oral p H value between the two groups,but the oral p H value of the two groups of patients changed with time.3.Comparison of lip wetness between the two groups: GEE model results: intergroup effect(P<0.05)time effect(P<0.05)interaction effect(P<0.05),indicating that the improvement effect of lip wetness in the experimental group was stronger than that in the control group,and the lip wetness in the two groups improved with the extension of intervention time,and the change trend of the two groups of patients was different.4.Comparison of oral mucositis between the two groups: GEE model results: intergroup effect(P<0.05),time effect(P<0.05),interaction effect(P<0.05),indicating that the improvement effect of experimental group on patients with mucositis is better than that of control group,the change trend of the two groups is different,intervention time will have a significant impact on the grade of mucositis in the two groups.5.Comparison of oral function status between the two groups: GEE model results showed that the inter-group effect,time effect and interaction effect were statistically significant(P<0.05),suggesting that the improvement effect of experimental group on oral function status was better than that of control group,and the oral function of the two groups would improve with the extension of intervention time,and the change trend was different.6.Comparison of gingivitis between the two groups: GEE model results: intergroup effect(P>0.05)Time effect(P<0.05)interaction effect(P<0.05),suggesting that there was no statistically significant difference in gingivitis between the two groups,but the gingivitis of the two groups improved with the extension of intervention time,and the change trend was different between the two groups.Conclusion:Jinyu mouthwash and physiological studies have certain improvement effects on oral p H,lip moistness,oral mucositis,oral function status and gingivitis in ICU patients with severe craniocerebral injury in neurosurgery,but the effect of Jinyu mouthwash is better than normal saline in improving lip moistness,oral mucositis and oral function status of patients.
