Objective: To explore the correlation between the general data, laboratory indicators and TCM syndrome types in patients with active Rheumatoid arthritis(RA),in order to provide some objective clues for clinical TCM syndrome differentiation of RA.Data and methods: RA patients admitted to Department of Rheumatology and Rheumatology Rehabilitation in the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2019 to August 2022 were collected. The cases were screened in strict accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria.A database was established with the collated clinical data.SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis to compare the distribution characteristics of gender, age,ESR,CRP,PLT and DAS28 scores among different TCM syndrome types in active RA patients, and the correlation with TCM clinical classification of this disease was discussed.Results:1.A total of 666 active RA patients were collected in this study, and the frequency of TCM syndrome types was ranked as follows: cold and dampness bi syndrome(39.94%)> dampness and heat bi syndrome(21.02%)> rheumatism bi syndrome(13.96%)> deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome(10.36%)> phlegm stasis bi syndrome(8.86%)> liver and kidney deficiency syndrome(5.26%)> deficiency of both qi and blood syndrome(0.60%).2.There were 121 male patients(18.17%)and 545 female patients(81.83%),with a male to female ratio of 1:4.5.There was no statistical difference in the distribution of TCM syndrome types between the gender(P>0.05).Among the patients, the youngest was 18 years old,the oldest was 91 years old,and the average age was 59.11±11.57 years old. There was no statistical difference in the distribution of TCM syndrome types between the age(P>0.05).3.CRP was statistically significant in the distribution of TCM syndrome types(P<0.05),and the level of CRP in the dampness and heat bi syndrome was higher than that of cold and dampness bi syndrome.4.PLT had significant significance in the distribution of TCM syndrome types(P<0.01),and the PLT level of dampness and heat bi syndrome, rheumatism bi syndrome and cold and dampness bi syndrome was higher than that of liver and kidney deficiency syndrome.5.DAS28 score had significant significance in the distribution of TCM syndrome types(P<0.01),and DAS28 score of dampness and heat bi syndrome, cold and dampness bi syndrome, phlegm stasis bi syndrome and rheumatism bi syndrome were all higher than those of liver and kidney deficiency syndrome and deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome.6.There was no statistical difference in the distribution of ESR among TCM syndrome types(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.The main clinical TCM syndrome types of RA in the active stage are cold and dampness bi syndrome, dampness and heat bi syndrome, rheumatism bi syndrome, deficiency of both qi and yin syndrome, phlegm stasis bi syndrome, liver and kidney deficiency syndrome, deficiency of both qi and blood syndrome, and the most common syndrome is cold and dampness bi syndrome.2.The distribution of TCM syndrome types of RA during the active period is correlated with CRP,PLT and DAS28 scores, which showed that high CRP level was correlated with dampness and heat bi syndrome. The high level of PLT was related to dampness and heat bi syndrome, rheumatism bi syndrome and cold and dampness bi syndrome. The high level of DAS28 score was related to dampness and heat bi syndrome, cold and dampness bi syndrome, phlegm stasis bi syndrome and rheumatism bi syndrome.
