Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Xingnaokaiqiao acupuncture in the treatment of post stroke constipation, and to provide a better treatment plan for patients with post stroke constipation in clinical practice. Methods: Sixty patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group(Xingnaokaiqiao Acupuncture)and a drug group(Polyethylene Glycol 4000 Powder)according to a random number table. The drug group had 5 cases of detachment,55 effective cases,30 treatment groups, and 25 drug groups. The treatment group received treatment once a day,6times a week, for a total of 2 weeks, totaling 12 times. The levels of Neuropeptide Y(NPY),Vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),TCM stroke syndrome score,TCM constipation symptom score, and the Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life(PAC-QOL)of patients before and after treatment were recorded, and the data were statistically analyzed.Observe the mechanism and therapeutic effect of the Xingnaokaiqiao acupuncture method on constipation. Results: 1.There was no statistical difference(P>0.05)between the treatment group and the control group in terms of age, gender, course of disease,NPY,VIP level,Traditional Chinese Medicine Stroke Syndrome Score,Traditional Chinese Medicine Constipation Symptom Score, and PAC-QOL score, and the two groups were comparable at baseline.2.After treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.001)in the score changes of traditional Chinese medicine stroke syndrome between the two groups of patients. There was a difference(P<0.01)in the score changes between the treatment group and the control group. After treatment, there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between the two groups. The treatment group showed significant therapeutic effects.3.After treatment, there was a significant difference in the score of constipation symptoms between the two groups(P<0.01).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).Both the treatment group and the control group have therapeutic effects.4.After treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.001)in the score difference of PACQOL scale between the two groups of patients. However, there was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups after treatment.Comparison of individual scores between the two groups showed that the treatment group had better efficacy in improving negative bowel movements and constipation symptoms than the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in changing abdominal discomfort and bowel satisfaction(P>0.05).5.After treatment, the NPY values within the two groups of patients were compared. There was a significant difference(P<0.001)in the difference before and after treatment within the treatment group, while there was a difference(P<0.05)in the difference before and after treatment within the control group. After treatment, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The treatment group can better reduce the serum NPY levels of patients.6.After treatment, the VIP values within the two groups of patients were compared. There was a significant difference(P<0.001)in the difference in VIP values before and after treatment within the treatment group, while there was a difference(P<0.05)in the difference in VIP values before and after treatment within the drug group. The difference between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).The treatment group can better reduce the patient’s serum VIP value level. Conclusion: The Xingnaokaiqiao acupuncture method may regulate the levels of neuropeptides NPY and VIP in the brain gut axis to treat post stroke constipation, improve neurological deficits in post stroke constipation patients, alleviate adverse emotions and clinical constipation symptoms, and reduce clinical adverse reactions.
