Objective:To investigate the effects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT)on the anxiety-depression status and quality of life of patients hospitalized for chronic heart failure(CHF),and the efficacy of rehospitalization rate within 6 months in CHF patients. Methods:Patients with CHF hospitalized in our cardiology department from June 1 to November 23,2022,were randomly grouped into control and CBT groups according to a random number table. The control group was treated with the conventional heart failure model, and the CBT group was given CBT during the patients’ hospitalization on the basis of the control group. The scores of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7),and the Anxiety Disorders-7(GAD-7)were compared between the two groups before and 1 week and 3 months after treatment.Disorder-7(GAD-7)scores,Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ)scores, and 6-month readmission rates in patients with CHF.RESULTS:The study ultimately included 61 eligible study subjects, with 29 and 32 patients in each of the control and CBT groups, respectively. The mean pre-treatment PHQ-9 scores were 5.66±0.5 7 and 4.53±0.54,the mean GAD-7 scores were 4.3 8±0.70 and 3.19±0.66,and the mean MLWHFQ scores were 52.52±2.68 and 47.37±2.55 in the control and CBT groups, respectively.scores were not significantly different between the two groups(all P<0.05).The mean PHQ-9 scores were 4.24±0.34 and 1.91 ±0.33,the mean GAD-7 scores were 2.59±0.39 and 1.09±0.37,and the mean MLWHFQ scores were 31.79± 1.95 and 22.66± 1.86,respectively,at 1 week after treatment in both groups, compared with the pre-treatment MLWHFQ scores decreased in both groups(all P<0.05).The mean PHQ-9 scores were 3.41 ± 0.31 and 1.25±0.29,the mean GAD-7 scores were 2.10±0.35 and 0.59±0.33,and the mean MLWHFQ scores were 27.35± 1.90 and 19.47± 1.81 in both groups at 3 months after treatment, compared with 1 week after treatment.PHQ-9,GAD-7 and MLWHFQ scores were lower than before(all P<0.05).The rehospitalization rate was lower in the CBT group than in the control group at 6 months after the intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients hospitalized for chronic heart failure had varying degrees of anxiety status, depressive status, and reduced quality of life.Cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively improve the anxiety state, depression state and quality of life of CHF patients, and reduce the rehospitalization rate of CHF patients.
