Purpose: To analyze the correlation between clinical factors and TCM syndrome in the case data of patients with colorectal cancer combined with seroperitoneum,to follow up on their survival,to explore the influence of different factors on prognosis and the rule of medication, and to provide a basis for clinical targeted intervention and treatment.Materials and methods: There is a retrospective analysis of 74 cases eligible for this study who were hospitalized in the Department of Oncology of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 1,2017,to June 1,2022,and included after screening according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria required for this study. Moreover, the general data of the cases were collected, and the patient’s gender, age, four diagnostic methods, chemotherapy and surgery history, primary site, and laboratory indexes were collected: white blood cell count(WBC),red blood cell count(RBC),hemoglobin(HGB),platelet count(PLT),total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),carbonyldiamide, creatinine, uric acid,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(ALT),glutamic oxalacetic transaminease(AST),carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199),carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125),ascites quantity, prescription medication, etc.,frequency of high-frequency drugs, medicinal properties, flavors, channel tropism statistics, and TCM syndrome generalization. As well as overall survival(OS)was counted in months, with June 1,2022,as the follow-up time endpoint.Cluster analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0,and correlation studies were performed using Fisher’s exact test and chi-square test for composition between groups.Kaplan-Meier method was used to compare overall survival(OS),and survival curves were plotted. The Log-Rank was used for univariate analysis, and the single factors with statistical significance were included in the COX regression model for multi-factor analysis and were considered statistically different with P<0.05.Formulation composition was analyzed using SPSS Modeler 18.0 for medication analysis and association modeling, and drugs were standardized according to the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China.Furthermore, the clinical characters, survival time, and medication rules of different syndromes were analyzed.Results:1.A total of 74 patients included in the study that could be categorized as liver stagnation and spleen deficiency, deficiency of both qi and yin,water-drink internal stagnation,spleen-kidney-yang deficiency, and deficiency of both qi and blood, the pattern of water-rheum collecting internally, yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, and syndrome of deficiency of both qi and blood with the most frequent pattern of liver-stagnation and spleen-deficiency,followed by deficiency of both qi and yin,and the least percentage of the syndrome of deficiency of both qi and blood.2.There were statistically significant differences between the TCM syndromes of colorectal cancer combined with seroperitoneum in terms of age, history of chemotherapy, with or without lymph node metastasis, and ascites quantity(P<0.05),and there were no statistically significant differences in the distribution of syndromes in terms of gender, history of surgery, pathogenic site and whether there was distant metastasis(P>0.05).3.ALT(P=0.006)and failure to have primary lesions surgery(P=0.002)removed were independent factors affecting the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer combined with peritoneal effusion.4.Among the 74 prescriptions included,231 Chinese traditional medicines were used, with a total frequency of 1634 times, and the top 20 medicines with a frequency of ≥25 times were in the order of radix glycyrrhizae preparata, poria, pseudostellaria heterophylla, coix seeds, rhizoma, scutellariae barbatae, smilax glabra, polyporus umbellatus, fritillariae bulb, white peony root, radix astragali, spreading hedyotis herb, radix scutellariae, snakegourd fruit, northern purple hu,stir-fried white atractylodes rhizome, scrophulariae, citrus, amomum, and oyster.Conclusion:1.The TCM syndrome of colorectal cancer combined with seroperitoneum is mostly of the liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type, with simultaneous insufficiency and excessive.2.Age,chemotherapy history, ascitic quantity, and with or without lymph node metastasis are related to the TCM syndrome.3.Patients with abnormal liver function and without surgical treatment had a shorter survival time.4.Treatment shall pay attention to strengthening the invigorating spleen and supplementing qi,clearing damp and promoting diuresis effect, and resolving toxins and dissipating masses.
