On The Individual Identity In Xixi's Novel

There are still obvious deficiencies in the "consolidation" in the existing research results of Xi Xi,and the problem of how to innovate in the inheritance and transplantation of writers’ works has not even been completed,but it’s exactly the key to open a new stage of Xi Xi research.Because only by grasping the constancy in the writer’s creation can we make clear the changeability of the content and form of the novel.Based on this,this paper creatively uses the methodological concept of "consolidation" with the clue of "individual identity".The question of "can we grasp cultural Hong Kong through literary Hong Kong" is concreted into the discussion of "Hong Kong quality" through Xi Xi,and the topic of "Xi Xi’s Individual Identity in Her Novels" is implemented,so as to comprehensively clarify Xi Xi’s novel creation which "never replicates herself".This article absorbs existentialism feminism,structuralism narrative,new criticism theory,geography theory of poetics and comparative poetics spirit,try to get rid of both linear integrated way of thinking of research,a detailed discussion on its individual identity in self(chapter 2),the collective(chapter 3),local(chapter 4)three levels constantly "inquiry-admitted that" connection mode,In the process of identity pursuit,Xi Xi’s original existence philosophy is explored,from the nihility and hopelessness of life to the resistance to the frivolous anger,to the lightness and freedom of childhood wisdom and self-holiness philosophy.This paper is divided into four chapters to discuss the above writing purposes.In her early works,Xi Xi’s perplexity of self-identity manifests itself as an inquiry of self-identity in the form of existentialism.In the mid-1970 s,the creation of My City was marked by the rapid development of Hong Kong economy and the change of external environment,which prompted Xi Xi to complete the first local identity molding after the awakening of local consciousness.At the same time,Xi Xi has been looking for a new way out for her own perplexity--to examine the meaning of self from the collective,and to liberate the voice desires obscured by power from the "gaze of the weak" of women,serious writers,patients and the elderly.Increasingly severe due to close to return,the identity of the Hong Kong consciousness at an all-time high,but the anxiety of Hong Kong also become passive silence on the edge of the main body.The Xi Xi’s local identity is no longer based on blind optimism imagine of My city,but rooted in "Fertile soil Town" series to Hong Kong live deep in the fable.After Hong Kong return to China,this Utopian strategy reached its peak and came to an abrupt end.Xi Xi’s imagination of Hong Kong marginal identity finally merged into the intellectual writing of self-identity around the turn of the millennium,when the chain of her individual identity formed a complete closed loop.In the constant confirmation of collective and local identity,Xi Xi also solving her own perplexity of existence.In her later years,after experiencing existentialism and physical transcendence,she asks for self-holy philosophy from childhood wisdom,and finally completes the cultural conversion of self-identity.Considering the length and other problems,this paper only focus on the question that how Xi Xi’s novel creation is recognized through the clue of "individual identity" connected into a visual connection mode.And how the "individual identity" in her novels is constructed in the constant crossing the line literary ontological experiment needs to be revised and published at the right time."Further Discussion" returns to the problem of literary "interest" pointed out in the introduction and summarizes the philosophical value of "Xi Xi’s optimism".In addition,this unique writing style is extended to show the unique dependence of Hong Kong literature and culture through the "Hong Kong quality" embodied in Xi Xi,and finally prove Xi Xi and her works for Hong Kong’s landmark status.
