| This paper mainly adopts the form of chronology to systematically sort out the life and thought of Sun Baotian,a famous scholar in the Shan-Zuo of the late Qing Dynasty,and tries to follow the style characteristics of modern chronology and emphasizing the parallel events and ideological context of main life,so as to further restore its history as a life individual and sort out the history of its ideological change.For the former,it is mainly through expanding the historical source and on the basis of common historical materials such as the author’s own writings and biographical materials,further excavation has been made in the collection of Zhu Juan in the Qing Dynasty,the record of Wang’s family,the essays of a scholar in Lingxiao and Yishi,the diary of He Baozhen,the collection of Ye Jingkui,the collection of Lian Ting,the letter of Mr.Wu in Tongcheng,the Preface and Postscript of Yi Gu Tang,the poetry collection of Liao Yuan,the letter of friends in Yifeng hall,the collection of Yi Yuan,the collection of Mr.Lingfeng and the visit to the book of Wen Lu Tang,the complete works of Zeng Guoquan,the collection of Li Bingheng,the diary of Weng TongSu.And other new historical materials that were not concerned by the academic circles in the past,which further enriched Sun’s life experience,friendships,official,academic and other deeds.As far as the latter is concerned,we strive to jump out of the limitations of the previous individual research on Sun,examine Sun’s thought in the internal logic of the academic evolution of the Qing Dynasty,and pay attention to the overall investigation and comparative research,especially the focus on sun’s academic concept of "adopting both Han and Song",main local chronicle thoughts,Chinese and Western cultural views,etc.It is pointed out that the so-called"combination of Han and Song" has the progressive significance of opposing empty talk and cumbersome textual research,but it is not the real integration of Han and Song,because it does not attach importance to the concept of "seeking truth only" of Pu Xue scholars in the Qing Dynasty or the rational spirit daring to advocate unique views in Cheng-Zhu Neo Confucianism.The limitation of this academic concept is also one of the ideological roots that restrict the view of Chinese and Western culture and lead it to resist Western learning.As a famous scholar of local chronicles,he inherited and developed the ideas of the "literature school" represented by Zhang Xuecheng,Jiao Xun and Ruan Yuan in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.He further enriched the previous discussions on the nature,compilation style and methods of local chronicles,which played an important role in promoting the establishment of modern local chronicles.The writing of Sun’s chronology not only helps to deepen the understanding of Sun’s own academic characteristics and the academic characteristics of Shan-Zuo in the Qing Dynasty,but also an important case of the interaction between academia and society in the Qing Dynasty.Some explorations in the style of the paper,such as the refinement and sorting of the people,things,writings and other elements involved in the chronological items,the excerpt of the materials that can reflect the important thoughts of the chronological owner,the quotation of the important evaluation of the current and future generations,the use of the words to express personal views,and the writing method of the combination of the chronological text and "comprehensive" are very important for enriching and innovating the chronological style,breaking through the limitation of the traditional style of "telling without doing" and changing the ideological prejudice that the chronology is only "comparative learning",which is still common in the academic circle,has a certain reference significance. |
