| This report is based on a webinar interpreting practice.As part of the webinar,Chinese and British participants discussed ways to best serve schools,teachers,and learners amid the pandemic,how COVID-19 impacted the educational publishing industry,and whether to adopt e-publishing in the future.Under the guidance of ecotranslatology,the report examines this practice in detail and discusses the interpretating strategies and rules utilized so as to offer a reference for similar practices in this area.Eco-translatology,put forward by Professor Hu Gengshen,defines the translation process and formulates guidelines for translation and interpreting practices from an ecological perspective.The theory advocates the centrality of translators,emphasizes the importance of translational eco-environment,and views translation as adaptation and selection.From linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions,this theory guides translation and interpreting practices toward achieving balance and harmony of translation ecology.The report discusses the problems and solutions encountered in this type of interpreting.In terms of linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions,the strategies such as addition,omission,conversion,literal translation and free translation are utilized to accomplish adaptive transformation.Implementing three-dimensional transformations facilitates an optimal interpretation.This report presents new information on the application of eco-translatology and interpreting practices in the educational publishing industry.However,this report contains some shortcomings due to the limited research scope.It is expected that other researchers will further advance the research. |
